The Artist with the deep soul and some deep deep buried secrets!

Owen is an artist who is quite famous already despite being s young and he has such a unique approach and inspirations for his art. People can write down confessions (anonymously) and he uses them to translate them into art. I absolutely loved Owen right away. He was (of course) incredibly hot, but he was not the super sensitive artist I expected. He’s more the strong bad-ass boy with an artistic soul. Can you imagine that combination?

And of course, there are some secrets he carries around and does not let out, well until he meets our girl….

The Girl with a complicated and heartbreaking past! (And yes, she does needs saving!)

Even though Auburn is still so young (in her very early 20s) she already has a past that completely defines her and forced her life in a direction she wouldn’t have imagined. But .. when life happens, all you can do is move along with it and make the best out of it. What was additionally so heartbreaking about her situation is that she has no emotional backup from friends or family. She’s alone, and she is dependant on other people so much that she can’t even stand up for herself. Auburn gets emotionally blackmailed and I hated everyone who did that to her! She needed someone to tell her that she is a strong and wonderful woman, who can and should fight for her needs!

Stand up for yourself! You are strong and you deserve it!

Owen and Auburn are good for each other. There chemistry and romance was beautiful and sizzling hot, but not just this – they helped each other and yes they finally saved each other.

Bottom Line

Colleen Hoover again delivered an emotionally touching and heartbreaking story with two people who need to save each other if they ever want to be together. It’s about standing up for what you need and deserve even if it’s not easy.

What makes Confess even more special is the addition of pieces to Owens drawings and art in the book. Colleen Hoover is a master story-teller, who always just adds a notch more than others!

  1. Oh wow, I love that he turns confessions into art. How clever. I’ve never read anything by this author, but I have read some really mixed reviews of this book and from big fans of the author so I’m hesitate to pick this up as my first read from her. I did pick up ugly love and plan to read it first. Great review 🙂
