Welcome to this new instalment of our Love Letter Event, today in honor of Valentines Day!
Happy Valentines Day!
Jenny from Supernatural Snark were celebrating the “loooooveee” with you and some of our favorite Authors!
Last year has been amazing, so we are super excited to have this event back for 2015!
And today we are excited to kick off a whole month full of Love!!
Jenny and I are both big fat suckers of romance, and if a story doesn’t have some tiny bit of romance we usually don’t fully enjoy the book. We love to swoon over the boys and we love to feel the butterflies of first love and intensely touching romance! For each Friday in February two authors is going to share a Love Letter with us, which you can find here at the Bookworms and at Supernatural Snark. This will be either from the author to one of her characters or between characters. And, we can assure you that this is going to be swoon worthy wonderful!
Last week I kicked off the event with Heather Demetrios and a heartbreaking Love letter with from her to her main character in I’ll Meet You There – Josh.
And this week, I have the wonderful wonderful Nikki Kelly here who wrote the fantastic YA Paranormal Lailah and she shares a letter to Gabriel, which is again such a heartbreaking letter that completely makes me tear up.
Dearest Gabriel
I stood behind you at the beginning of your story, but I will hold your hand at the very end.
You don’t know me, but I know you.
I stitched the very fabric that makes up your soul, but for you there was never a pattern in which to follow, you just were. As you went on your journey, by your own hand, you created pulls and tears. Your devotion to another, blinded you to the damage being caused, but even if you could have seen, you wouldn’t have cared—One way or another, rise or ruin, Lailah would be your deliverance.
I was right there with you, a silent ghost following your silhouette of silver as you moved through the chapters of your life. Whether awake or asleep, you have never been far from my mind, your voice never too distant to hear the secrets of your story.
For the longest time, this pen has sat squeezed in-between my fingers, scribbling down the things you have done, the things you have said, and the messages you were trying to convey.
But all too soon, the ink will bleed a final full stop on the white sheet.
When it becomes dry, you will know me.
You will see me.
You will hear me say—“Help me let you go.”
Leave the page, and place your hand over the top of my own. Entwine your fingers with mine, and push the pen that still remains firmly in my grip—you deserve the last word.
Tell me a secret, please, just one more before you leave—one you saved, one meant for you and I alone, one that makes it okay to say goodbye.
You will lift the piece of paper and place it in my hands.
And then I will have your last secret to keep.
I know you completely.
I see you clearer than before.
I hear you louder than ever.
My tears will fall; running over the inked footprint of your last word, left on the page you no longer live upon.
OOoOO Nikki – Thank you so much for sharing this amazing amazing Letter… It also scares me just little bit about what will happen in GABRIEL- Oh Nikki, please don’t you dare break my heart!

“I was born and raised only minutes away from the chocolately scent of Cadbury World in Birmingham, England. So it will probably come as no surprise that when I’m not dreaming in Vampires & Angels, I dream in chocolate! For the past ten years I have lived in West London with my hubby and two dogs, Alfie – the Pug & Goose – the Chihuahua.
LAILAH is my debut novel, and first launched in serial form to wattpad, a readers & writers community. Within just 6months, LAILAH had over a million reads and thousands of comments and votes.
Since then, The Styclar Saga has gone on to pick up a traditional deal with Feiwel & Friends, and LAILAH, the first book in the series is due for release on October 7th 2014.
These days I spend my time balancing my amazing job of writing fantasy fiction, with my other, very important role of Chocolate Connoisseur. I like to multitask and do the two together. It makes me happy.”
About Leila
The girl knows she’s different. She doesn’t age. She has no family. She has visions of a past life, but no clear clues as to what she is, or where she comes from. But there is a face in her dreams – a light that breaks through the darkness. She knows his name is Gabriel.
On her way home from work, the girl encounters an injured stranger whose name is Jonah. Soon, she will understand that Jonah belongs to a generation of Vampires that serve even darker forces. Jonah and the few like him, are fighting with help from an unlikely ally – a rogue Angel, named Gabriel.
In the crossfire between good and evil, love and hate, and life and death, the girl learns her name: Lailah. But when the lines between black and white begin to blur, where in the spectrum will she find her place? And with whom?
Gabriel and Jonah both want to protect her. But Lailah will have to fight her own battle to find out who she truly is

LOVE how her love for a character is so very real, how he’s a real person to her but I do hope she gives him a HEA because he sounds like the kind of guy who deserves it!
Lovely letter 🙂

Oh dear!! *wringles hands*
I do hope this is more about Nikki having to let go of the characters that have meant so much for her in the last book than about something awful happening to Gabriel!!
