February is the month of Valentines Day and all things about loooooveeee! So, Jenny from Supernatural Snark are celebrating this month with you and some of our favorite Authors!
Jenny and I are both big fat suckers of romance, and if a story doesn’t have some tiny bit of romance we usually don’t fully enjoy the book. We love to swoon over the boys and we love to feel the butterflies of first love and intensely touching romance! For each Friday in February two authors is going to share a Love Letter with us, which you can find here at the Bookworms and at Supernatural Snark. This will be either from the author to one of her characters or between characters. And, we can assure you that this is going to be swoon worthy wonderful!
We kicked of the Event with Katie McGarry (here at the Bookworms) and with Wendy Higgins over at Supernatural Snark. Two wonderful, swoon worthy love letters that were absolutely amazing. Katie shared a love letter from Isaiah to Rachel which is just beyond wonderful! Last week I had Sara B.Larson here who debut this year with the YA Fantasy DEFY, which I loved so very much! She wrote a letter to her character Marcel, which will bring you to tears! Then last week I had someone also very special here. Gena Showalter is a woman and author I absolutely admire and adore so very much! She’s a genius, she’s incredible creative and writes books so fast I think she must be Super Woman! Please read her Letter to Cole (our beloved Bad Boy from The White Rabbit Chronicles) and fell in love just like I did!
This week, I welcome Lynn Matson here. Her thrilling adventure NIL which comes out March 4th (soooon my friends) and needs to be on your wish lists!
So here I excitingly present your Lynn with a love letter from her swoon worthy Main Character Thad (gotta love this boy!) to his girl Charley!
Dear Charley, Your Thad
A Valentine from Thad
Okay, so sweet Danny asked me to draft a Valentine from my MC’s. NIL has a bit of the star-crossed lover vibe going on–playing off of the idea of “what if you met your soulmate in the one place where there was no future?” –so I LOVED the idea of a Valentine from on MC to the other! But how to choose?! Because as y’all may know, NIL is told from a dual POV, which gave to two MC’s to choose from: Thad, the boy, who has already been on Nil for 267 days, and Charley, the girl who lands on Nil on her Day One.
it’s a cruel joke
a twist of fate
to meet you when it’s almost too late
my days are numbered
the clock is ticking
my shattered hopes are wounds I’m licking
you only live once
I get it now
I’ve lost my heart don’t even know how
it’s yours for good
don’t want it back
even though the odds are stacked
because if we make it
I promise you this
you’ll be the only girl I’ll ever kiss
for you I’d run
for you I’d die
c’mon Nil—just one more try
give me a gate to make or miss
I love you Charley.
Always.
Thad
“You’ll be the Girl I’ll ever kiss”… I’m solo swooning over this! Loooove it so much! But then, I also loved NIL so freaking much! It’s such a fantastic book – full of action, thrill and loooooovveeeee!
Lynne Matson wrote the perfect love letter showing how cute Thad it and how much they love each other!
Thank you so much Lynne for participating in this event and for this sweet letter!

On the island of Nil, the rules are set. You have exactly 365 days to escape—or you die. Rives is now the undisputed Leader of Nil City, but keeping the City united is tougher than ever.
Raiders have grown bolder, supplies are dwindling, and non-human inhabitants have taken a turn toward the deadly. New arrivals cause rifts within the City, putting the Search system at risk, and calling everything Rives knows into question. Desperate for answers, he teams up with the only other person searching for them: Skye, a new arrival with a mysterious past of her own. Soon the duo find themselves locked in a desperate race to save all the residents of Nil—and possibly destroy the island forever. But at what cost? And who will pay the price?
Quote from my Review
Nil by Lynne Matson was a thrilling mysterious tale about surviving friendship and love, set against the backdrop of a puzzling island full of danger and secrets. The main characters were wonderfully and remarkably crafted and made us cheer for them to survive and make it out of the island and live a happily ever after. Nil is an exceptional, unique debut and I’m eager to read more from Lynne Matson
About Lynne Matson
Lynne is a former attorney who thinks writing books for teens is much more fun. 🙂 Her debut novel, NIL, a YA thriller with a SF twist, will be published by Macmillan/Henry Holt on March 4, 2014.
When she’s not writing or reading, you’ll find her hanging out with her husband and their 4 boys, usually at the beach. Cookies are her kryptonite, especially thin mints.

I can totally see a teenaged girl swooning over these words as the boy she loves says them to her. To make it even more romantic, they’re walking hand-in-hand down the beach. *swoon*
