So what’s the game now? This, or the life I used to know?
When Miki Jones is pulled from her life, pulled through time and space into some kind of game—her carefully controlled life spirals into chaos. In the game, she and a team of other teens are sent on missions to eliminate the Drau, terrifying and beautiful alien creatures. There are no practice runs, no training, and no way out. Miki has only the guidance of secretive but maddeningly attractive team leader Jackson Tate, who says the game isn’t really a game, that what Miki and her new teammates do now determines their survival, and the survival of every other person on this planet. She laughs. He doesn’t. And then the game takes a deadly and terrifying turn.
Ah… look at this cover, read the synopsis and tell me that you are not at least a little curious about this book. Well, I was!
Easy Start and then .. Bääääm!
When we first meet Miki it’s like meeting any other girl in an Contemporary Story. Talking about Boys, hanging out with girlfriends – like the perfect normal story. But then… things happen pretty damn fast when Miki is pulled into the Game! Crazy! That’s what I first thought, first being at a school, now being somewhere completely else with 4 other kids, weapons and this strange screens hanging in the air pointing out scores. Hu? Yep, we are just as confused as Miki ash’s also not getting lots of info but has to play along to survive.
Totally confusing!
Evil Aliens! Right, why not let Teens kill them..?!?
Soon we learn that those kids are there always for a short period of time to complete a quest and basically to kill some Aliens. But Miki is an awesome heroine who quickly tries to adapt and would do anything to get out of this! I loved her attitude, not sinking down and cry over this cryable situation but rather go and kick some alien-ass! Loved her!
The whole concept of The Game and The Aliens was fascinating but darkly compelling and thrilling. The whole book was so packed with action that everything just felt like a rush! In between there were some more quite moments but the book somehow never stayed still, we were constantly moving, exploring and finding out secrets!
Need some hot Boys? Yep, we got two – and no Love Triangle!
How awesome is that, we get two amazing swoon worthy and droll worthy boys but there is no Love Triangles! See me smiling and bouncing? I loved this so much as I was truly afraid of an Triangle! And like this I could love each boys completely and fully without feeling the need to take teams!
While Luca is more the BFF boy, Jackson is the one that makes me swoon and sing songs about him! He’s kick-ass, sometimes cold and calculating but there was a softness underneath that made me believe in him! There were some amazing, ghoosebumpy scenes that truly made love him even more! He is a very complicated and secretive character full of mysteries but this just added to his allure.
Bewitched Rating
Bottom Line
Rush by Eve Silver was most definitely a rush full of dark, edgy action. Rush was an incredible fast paced story with vivid characters, which are full of secrets and mysteries! The setting was phenomenal , adding an unique and refreshing addition to YA Sci-Fi stories!

So glad I snagged this one at BEA! I can’t wait to read it. I’m a big fan of aliens in fiction (especially YA), so I’m hoping I love this one to pieces.
And that cover freaking rocks!

This is the first positive review I’ve read about this, I think. The other ones all said this was so-so. But! I think I’ll pick this up ’cause there’s no love triangle. That’s so rare in YA these days! You always have to pick a team but then the dilemma is you love them both. Anyways, lovely review and I’ll be sure to pick this up!

Totally adding this to the to-read list ASAP! It sounds amazingtastic and I love that there wasn’t a love triangle YAY~! I love that it kicked off right away and even though you’re initially confused – that’s ok with me as long as that’s how the character is meant to feel as well. 😀
