Notable Quotables is a meme we started here at Bewitched Bookworms to share some of our favorite quotes in the books we’ve been reading. We think it is a fun way to find out a bit more about each other as book bloggers and to share everything from great snarky zingers to sigh inducing avowals of love.
Anyone can participate in this meme and it really can be any quote from any book, no matter the genre. So get creative and share something fun!
Here’s our quote for the week:
Nina filled in the awkward silence. “My favorite time of day is sunset. Preferebly in Botswana. In the dry season. I love answers. and I think there’s a reason Mom hardly ever looks at us.”“It is meaning you want?” Mom said. “You will be disappointed. Now eat. I hate this dish when it is cold.”
This little quote came from one of the sisters and their mother during a dinner conversation after the Father, and patriarch of the family died. After taking a shot of vodka, they all share three things about themselves, just for ‘fun’. There are two sisters, Nina, the wild and crazy war photo journalist who is anywhere BUT home. And then Meredith, the dependable one who runs the business and everyone’s lives like an OCD ruler with an iron fist, even though her life is falling apart at the seams. I like this quote because truly, I haven’t finished the book yet and I’m still trying to figure out which direction this book is going to go and why their lives are all so fragile. I’m hoping for a redemption sooner rather than later, because this shiz is getting depressing!

Funny you ask – I plan on reviewing it, but am going to wait until I finish because i'm really not sure if it will be a good review and I really don't want to write a stinker. 🙁 Fingers crossed that this thing somehow redeems itself in the end!
