When the Princess of Nova accidentally poisons herself with a love potion meant for her crush, she falls crown-over-heels in love with her own reflection. Oops. A nationwide hunt is called to find the cure, with competitors travelling the world for the rarest ingredients, deep in magical forests and frozen tundras, facing death at every turn.
Enter Samantha Kemi - an ordinary girl with an extraordinary talent. Sam's family were once the most respected alchemists in the kingdom, but they've fallen on hard times, and winning the hunt would save their reputation. But can Sam really compete with the dazzling powers of the ZoroAster megapharma company? Just how close is Sam willing to get to Zain Aster, her dashing former classmate and enemy, in the meantime?
And just to add to the pressure, this quest is ALL OVER social media. And the world news.
No big deal, then.
I have been in a reading slump for a while now and you all know how that feels when then finally a book comes along that completely excited you and pulls you out if it! That.. was Madly for me! YEAH!
Fantastical Setting, with Magic and Potions and Princesses, Technology and Adventure!
Honestly, I love everything about Madly. The world is awesome, creative and fun to explore. There are magical humans – Talenteds, then there are “normals” and then there re normals with a special talent for potion making. It’s a quite interesting set up, because the “normals” and Talenteds live peacefully together, and the normals just use technology like we do, with telephones, Facebook and TV!
Samantha do is yet something even more special – she has no magic, but she has a extraordinary talent to make potions, something most the magical users cannot do.
A Quest to save the Princess!
I loose this adventurous quest to save the princess who accidentally poisons herself with a love potion and now, all potion makers have to go on a hunt for a cure. And of course Samantha is all in the middle and ready to win this race and save the Princess.
Kick Ass Girl Power!
Samantha was super cool! She was strong determined and knew what she wanted. Also, she knew she was good and know that she could make the potion to save the princess. I loved that about her. Also, enter Zain the beautiful boy who’s family is also her archrival of her family, she (mostly) keeps her cool and stays focused. Finally, she is also not to show to show her feelings! Go Girl!

Bottom Line
All in all Madly was a romantic and highly entertaining adventure, with a great exciting world building and some extraordinary characters! Seriously, I want more stories like this one!
