Top 10 Books 2012…so far!

Posted 16 June, 2012 by Danny in Danny, Discussion / 34 Comments

Yesterday was June 15 – which means mid of the month and mid of the year! So I decided I would to a quick Top 10 Reads of 2012 Β for the first half the year!

And I decided to include books I read this year, which means some of them were published last year but I just got now to read them, also some are books that will come out soon, but were way too awesome not to mention them now! I looked through all the 5 star reviews on goodreads and took the 10 I loved the most, so …

*drum rolls*

here they are, my Β Top 10

10

Shatter Me byΒ Tahereh Mafi

love this new cover so so sooo much!!!!! It’s epic!Β

Quote from my Review:

This was a phenomenal book that totally left me speechless with how much I adored it. The writing is so amazingly beautiful and so incredibly full of emotions I had tears in my eyes nearly throughout. I felt everything Juliette felt. Adam is the swoon-worthy boy that makes the story well-rounded and simply perfect!

The Immortal RulesΒ byΒ Julie Kagawa

Quote from my Review

Dark and thrilling with incredible real and hauntingly beautiful characters!Β The Immortal RulesΒ is the perfect preface into a new exciting series full of kick ass characters you are going to care and cheer for and that has a gripping story which leaves you graving for more! It sucks you in and won’t let you go until you read the very last page! Julie Kagawa is a Rockstar in the YA Paranormal World andΒ The Immortal RulesΒ is epicΒ awesomenessΒ for sure!

Catching JordanΒ byΒ Miranda Kenneally

Review to come…

But, I loved this book so much and reminded me of my favorite TV show : Friday Night Lights! I loved Jordan and the romance was cute and hot and absolutely full of butterflies! Staling Parker is the next book from Miranda Kenneally and it is as awesome if not better. (Was a tough decision between those two books…)Β

From What I Remember…Β byΒ Stacy Kramer,Β Valerie Thomas

Quote from my Review

Smashing, Cute and Sexy.Β From What I Remember… is aΒ excitinglyΒ  beautiful story with love, self-discovery and a thrilling set of characters. If you look for a lovely coming of age novel, that will touch your heart, make you laugh and cry – then you most definitely should pick this one up. This book is movie material, explosive and romantic!

Throne of GlassΒ byΒ Sarah J. Maas

Review to come ..

Quote from my Review on goodreads:Β

This was epic fantasy – thrilling, gripping and beautiful. With mysteries to be discovered and a promise of more epicness to come! I loved every second I spend with Celaena and I can’t wait to step back into her live and follow whatever journey lays ahead of her!

I’m amazed and In love!

StormΒ Β Brigid Kemmerer

Quote from my Review

Storm by Brigd Kremmer is a phenomenal kick off in a new paranormal series that has everything we all love in this genre. Β Brilliant cast of characters, explosive fast paced story – twists that keep you on edge and not one, but 4 hot boys! Clearly, be ready to fall for those boys!

UnravelingΒ byΒ Elizabeth Norris

Quote from my Review

Elizabeth Norris created with Unraveling a thrilling tale that is full of intrigue, suspense, drama, heartbreak and sweet love, perfected with beautiful and wonderful characters that will need a place in your heart! Unraveling took my by surprise, I loved every second I spend between those pages and that I spend with Janelle, Ben and Jared. It was full of twists and turns, I didn’t see coming and twists that broke my heart! Don’t miss out on this unique and fresh YA story with a wonderful mix of genres!

Pushing The LimitsΒ byΒ Katie McGarry

Review to come…

Quote from my Mini-view from goodreads

This was a phenomenal debut! It was raw intensive, emotional, heartbreakingly sad and beautiful at the same time. This is the story of two characters that lived through something horrible and together they find a way back to life and to hope. I was sobbing a few times throughout the book. It was touching, emotionally raw and it left me wishing those two will finally find peace.

Of PoseidonΒ byΒ Anna Banks

Quote from my Review

Of Poseidon was epic and a pure wonderment! Anna Banks created a tale that was heart-melting, mysterious funny and just fanfreakingtastic! The characters were amazing with a heroine who was smart cute and snarky and Galen the boy who stole Emma’s heart but will also steal yours! Of Poseidon will get a place on my special-awesomeness shelf of epic tales and I hope it will get a place on yours!

Sweet EvilΒ byΒ Wendy Higgins

Quote from my Review

Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins is a highly seductive read, with intense and memorable characters which will suck you into their tale and occupy your mind even afterΒ finishingΒ the last page. Β Anna is anΒ adorableΒ heroine perfect for a tale of good and evil and Kaidan is her perfect counterpart who will enter your dreams and won’t let you go! Β *dies of this epicness*Β

That’s my list of awesome! And … just looking at these books and reading my reviews again remembered me how much I love these books and yes, I would totally (like right now) read them again! I am super excited to see what else is to come for this year.. It has to be really really good to top my list right now!

There are tons of books I’m looking forward to so let’s see what epicness hides behind those pages!

Gah! I haven’t read any of the ones on your list, but most of them are on my TBR list.

I’ve loved Scarlet, Cinder and Bleeding Hearts (the Drake Chronicles).

I have to mention a few non-YA books too. Fated by Benedict Jacka, Plague Town by Dana Fredsti (zombies!!!!) and one called Attachments by Rainbow Rowell (it’s a couple of years old but I just read it and it was freaking hilarious and adorable).

See? Then you must read at least a few from my list !! starting with Sweet Evil and Of Poseidon and then directly as soon as it is out Pushing the Limits πŸ™‚

I truly have to read Cinder, I heard so many awesome things about it that I finally have to get to it!

  11. For me Under the Never Sky and Incarnate are up there on top. I read Shatter Me last year. I have yet to read most of those others. I’m trying to think of ones that blew me away. I think Sapphire Blue by Kirsten Geir might have you read that in German yet? I totally agree with Immortal Rules. And surprisingly I’m going to say Goddess Interrupted. It was really good. I will read the others and let you know.

Gahhh.. Under The Never Sky was so awesome! Technically, I read it last year, which is why I didn’t include it although it was pretty damn awesome!!

I haven’t read German book in 3 years- lol so apparently I miss all the German releases that are translated to english … and then I read them! Stupid Me! Lool, I should support German Authors much more me thinks!

Ah, that explains why it isn’t on there. I read Shatter Me last year. Still awesome! But the Sapphire Blue has been out since Ruby Red was published that’s why I was wondering if you had read it. I’m really anxious to read that one!

Catching Jordan sounds like a great read, and exactly my kind of book! Great list, I am pretty terrible at reading books as they are released, so I’m not sure I could make a top 10, but I’ll definitely be updating my TBR list. πŸ™‚

Gosh Catching Jordan was so so cute!!! Loved it to pieces, and the second one Stealing Parker was just as good! And.. I know what you mean, with so many review copies on our TBR list it’s hard to read books that are released already. Ido listen to the audio’s since I do not get so many audio review copies, so this is my “already released outlet” πŸ™‚

  13. I’m all late to the party, but let me just say that your list is basically listing every single book I either need to read or absolutely loved for this year! So, I’m betting it’s definitely a lot of awesomeness in there. o: Most of them are in my TBR pile for ASAP-picking-up, lol. I love these lists, even if they make me wish I had even more time to read. o:
