Happy Friday and welcome to another “My Reading Spot Friday”.
Hi, all!!!
It’s Pushy here today!
*waves*
I have adored reading
(and watching)
everyone’s reading spots throughout the past few weeks.
I just love this feature that Danny created and I’m so happy to share my Reading Spots!
So without further ado, here are my reading spots:
——————————–
I’ve always been an avid reader. I love to lose myself in a story, no matter where I am. But as a mother of three under 6 and newly returned to working outside of the home, finding the time to read has been a challenge! Yet, where there’s a will, there’s a way and as you can see, I’ve gotten creative in my pursuit of reading.
My traditional reading spot is my giant comfy chair. I have spent years by now, reading in this chair. I read here before I had my kids, I read here while enormously pregnant with my twins and I read here until I passed out after everyone in the house had FINALLY gone to sleep. This is a great chair. It reclines almost fully horizontal and is plush and leathery and just like heaven!
One of my sneakiest ways to get some reading in is when I’m doing the laundry. Nothing gets me time alone quicker than telling my husband I’m about to tackle the mountain of laundry the five of us produce on a weekly basis. And, as you can see, a glass of wine does occasionally accompany me upstairs (yes, I’m lucky enough to have my laundry room up on the second floor of my house along with all of our bedrooms).A good book, a glass of wine, and pile upon cozy warm pile of clothes to fold. I’m a giver, I really am. 🙂
But by far, I get the most reading done in my car. No, don’t alert the state troopers on Tollway-294, because here again, it’s all audio, baby! Since I went back to the corporate world, I have regained my 10 hour a week commute time. Sure, I could spend that time cursing other drivers or edu-macating myself on the news or something, but forget that! I like to spend my time in dystopian future worlds filled with tough girls and hot guys!
*It’s corporate Pushy, off to enjoy another book!*
So that’s me! I hope you enjoyed seeing my reading spots. And I’d love to find out what your favorite reading spot is, so make sure you leave it in the comments along with what you’re reading now while you’re in your reading spot!
Now go and get lost…in a book!

That chair looks super cozy!!
I’ve recently started getting more into audiobooks, and yea, the only time I really get to listen to them is when I’m alone in the car ( I also have a family of five, so listening in my house with all of them there is a lost cause)—sometimes I wish my drive to work was longer than 20 minutes! LOL
Thanks for sharing this!

The chair is THE BOMB!!!!! I adore it!
And I hear you about the family noise. This is why you must find an activity they all shun (aka laundry) and volunteer to take it on. With your iPod of course! 🙂

How do you fold laundry, drink wine and read! Those are some superpowers!! I think you must have picked some up in your reading adventures!!
I love your reading spots, especially the comfy chair. But what I would not give for a second floor laundry room. Though the first floor is better than the basement!
Yes, listening to audio is much better than yelling at drivers. You never know what they might have in their car. Plus the news is depressing! A book is much better!
Thanks for sharing with us!!

Heather!!!! Thanks for stopping by! My Laundry-Kung-Fu is STRONG!! Mostly, there’s drinking and then a little folding, and more drinking and then swooning over kissy scenes and…more drinking. 🙂 But the laundry does eventually get folded, so no one complains.
Have a great weekend, hon!!!

Hi Pushy!
🙂 That sounds and looks like a great chair! I also enjoy listening to audiobooks, though I usually only listen to them on long drives. I just bought the most comfortable purple chair yesterday that I have been reading for hours on tonight! The place where I spent the majority of my time reading on is my bed. I enjoyed reading about your favorite places to read!

Its the only way to show up to work Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed 😉
Just tell them that you belong to the House of Kawaii and it will displease the Nyan Cat if you refuse to wear the hat of his people.
I mean… being smited by the Nyan? That right there should make them enforce EVERYONE to wear a super cute hat to work 😉

I love your chair!! It looks seriously cozy. And the laundry room–that’s the coolest place I’ve heard someone reading on, lol! But when you say it like that it sounds kinda cozy too!

I love that she drinks wine AND reads while doing laundry! That’s multi-tasking at its finest 😀
I still haven’t listened to any audio books. I really need to give them a chance!
Love this feature! Thanks for sharing your reading spots, Pushy!
