Everything's bigger in Big Sky country, including the hearts of the Montana Men...

Champion rodeo rider Dane Bowden is eight seconds from winning under the Vegas lights, one last hurrah before reluctantly returning to his family's Montana ranch. But his bull has other plans. When Dane wakes up, he's sure he's died and gone to heaven . . . because the doctor who comes to his aid is the same girl who saved his life and disappeared years ago.

Bell would do anything for Dane. He's the fantasy that always kept her going. A child genius hidden away by her family, Bell was the secret no one talked about, the girl no one wanted. Despite finding success as a young surgeon, she's still the awkward girl who's never had a boyfriend. So why does Dane, a notorious playboy and sizzling-hot cowboy, insist on taking her on a real date?

Bell is the only woman in Dane's heart. When a rodeo rivalry turns deadly, it's his turn to save Bell's life—because he sure as hell won't lose his guardian angel again

I needed a break from YA and so I went and searched for some Adult Romance and stumbled upon the Montana Men Series from Jennifer Ryan. And oh Glorious Cowboys! This series was so so amazing! The series tells the story of each of the Bowden Brothers who crew up in Montana and now each find the love of their lives, and we’ve got to be part of this!

At Wolf Ranch : Montana Men, #1

Gabe is the oldest brother and worked his whole life to make enough money to buy his own ranch. He then gets an incredible offer to buy Wolf’s Ranch, but it turns out the offer was to good to be true! But the book starts with Ella Wolf who sees her identical twin sister being murdered and who flees to Wolf Ranch to uncover the secrets behind this killing! This first book is amazing and has the perfect combination of romance and suspense! There are a lot of secrets, and surprising twists that made this story extremely diverting and entertaining! I loved Gabe ( oh strong hero!), but I also loved Ella a lot! 5* for the perfect combination of suspense and romance!

When It’s Right: Montana Men, #2

In this second book, it’s on Blake to find love. And he has been working on a nearby ranch with an old couple that made them their heir. When then their lost granddaughter Gillian turns up with her little brother things are turned upside down and everyone tries to help Gillian heal. Here, there is less suspense but a lot of angst – because Gillian has been treated horribly her whole life and had to be a mother for her little brother already with 12 years. She never learned to trust men until she meet Blake. And it’s such a wonderful story of healing and Blake is a wonderful gentle men (even though of course he’s big and strong and sexy). Blake knew exactly how to handle her and who to earn her trust! It’s a wonderfully moving and touching romance!

Her Lucky Cowboy: Montana Men, #3

I was actually most excited about this third book, because Dane has always been described in the previous books as the bad boy, womaniser and I was so excited to see how he falls head over heels for a woman! Oh and the heroine was the other part why I was so eager for this story. Bell is the town doctor (and we’ve meet her before) and she was one of the youngest woman ever to finish medical school. I was truly excited to get to know her and her story more. And Oh, she also comes with a so truly sad backstory – where her father completely abandoned her and she had to grew up with her grandmother who hated her.

Seriously, these two – the womaniser and the doctor were clearly meant to be an interesting pair! Just like I loved the other stories I also loved this one, with Dane falling so hard for Bell and who he fights for her was just truly romantic and lovely! And even though all endings were pretty happy – this one was maybe a tad too much to be honest, but that is the only criticism I have, other than this it was just as great as the others!

Bewitched Rating

Bottom Line

If you love the strong heroic Cowboy and love western romances than this series is a must read! I was sad when the series was over, I mean all brothers found their HEA – but then I saw the Jennifer Ryan is continuing the series with a “new”set of brothers, which we met in “Her Lucky Cowboy”! YES! More Montana Men pretty please!

  1. I should really read these. They’d be such a good laugh. I’ve never seen any Montana rancher who looks like that guy on the cover. When the summary mentions Vegas lights, he must be at the NFR – it’s the national rodeo championship in Vegas each December. We’ve been in Vegas several times during it (coincidentally). It’s amazing what a big deal rodeo is here in Montana.

One funny story – in Cody (which is in Wyoming, about two hours from where I live), they have a rodeo every night during the summer. At the hospital emergency room, the staff has a whiteboard where they keep a running tally of who won – animal or man – for each event. Most nights, the animals beat the humans.
