Super Six Books of 2013

Gosh, I can’t believe this year is already over and I have to choose again my bookish Highlights! I read some amazing books this year. so I had a hard time narrowing it down to only 6 … But, I managed and, here they are!

SuperSixSunday_Top2013_CrashIntoYou

Well, of course made it Katie McGarry on top of my list! Crash Into You was fanfreaking amazing and seriously her best book yet. I swooned, I laughed and I cried! This book has everything, the love, the angst and the wonderful beautiful sweet romance we know to expect from the genius Katie.

SuperSixSunday_Top2013_Fangirl

Fangirl totally caught be my surprise by how much I loved this book. It was such a wonderful story and I will never ever remember how I was so touched that I had tears in my eyes when Cath and Levi kissed for the first time.

These Broken Stars was amazing. It was had such a rich and flu story that kept me on edge the whole time. And the love and romance? Holy amazing!!! It was so so wonderful and beautiful, the characters strong and amazing.

SuperSixSunday_Top2013_BurningSky

I knew I was going to like Burning Sky what I didn’t know is by how freaking much I’d love it. It was so awesome, the magical world reminded me of Harry Potter and Titus was such a great hero. You never knew where you’d stand with him, but when you finally got a real glimpse into his heart I melted!

For a very long time I’ve been obsessed with Vampires. When I realised that Holly Black’s new book would be about Vampires I was excited. This book was bloody brilliant. It was dark edgy and quite perfectly played with the cruelty of Vampires and with the allure they will always hold.

Ohoooo this book… Oh.. Ezrra! Gosh how I loved this broken, sad boy who lost everything (or so he thought) and then gained again everything in return! He started a new life, a life he wouldn’t have imaged himself a year ago and I loved this transition. I simply loved this boy. He was honest, genuine and I desperately wished him so succeed. This is one of the only books, where I didn’t mind the bittersweet ending so much. It still was one of the best books this year for me!

Runners Up!

This time I couldn’t help it but to mention two more books that positively blew me away this year! Sabrina Elkins writing reminds me of Katie McGarry and everyone knows how much I love her. Stir Me Up was a wonderful and exciting YA – NA crossover which was a lot steamier than the usual YA but still hold the wonderful sweet romance we love so much. Stir Me Up definitely belongs in my Top 10 list this year.  (You can win 1/5 copies right now!)

And then, I must cheat now and mention AVALON by Mindee Arnett. Cheating because Avalon comes out 2014, but I just read it during my vacation and I LOOOOVED this explosive and thrilling and super exciting story so much that I must mention it here and now!

  1. Ahhhh!!!! So many amazing books on this list Danny! Crash Into You was outstanding, and These Broken Stars and The Burning Sky absolutely blew me away. The Burning Sky was such a surprise because fantasy typically isn’t my genre (or at least that’s what I’ve always told myself), but it was simply amazing and now I’m on the lookout for more fantasy! I still need to read Coldest Girl in Coldtown and The Beginning of Everything:)

  2. I am reading Crash Into You and I’m loving it! I also loved Fangirl! I haven’t read the others but have two of them. Oh where do the days go!! I just don’t seem to be reading as fast as I used to! Now I’ve got 4 more to add to my list. Is it weird that I love that I’ll probably die with a huge TBR list!! I just hope I’ve gotten to the best of the stack!
    Thanks for your list!
