Who is Seraphina?

That… is one of the biggest questions of Unremembered by Jessica Brody. And, I’m excited helping you to figure this out – because believe me.. you do not have the slightest idea who Seraphina is- The answer might shock you!

I am super duper exciting kicking the Unremembered Blog Tour off today and I’m even more excited having Jessica Brody today on the Blog. And.. thanks to the awesome people at MacKids – I have a Giveaway at the end of the post!

But, for now, please welcome Jessica at the Bookworms today!

JessicaBrodyHi all! I’m so thrilled to be launching the epic UNREMEMBERED blog tour on Bewitched Bookworms! Hoorah!

When Danny asked me if I would write a post introducing the main character of my story, I was excited but also a bit stumped. How do you effectively introduce a character when the entire book is all about solving the mystery of who that character is? I feared I might never be able to do her introduction justice without completely spoiling everything! Especially since, as the author (yep, that’s me), I know exactly who she is, but as the reader, you’re not really meant to know much about her at all when you start reading. Mostly because she knows nothing about herself! (An inevitable side effect of having a first person narrator with amnesia.)

And that’s when I got the idea to introduce her through someone else’s perspective. A limited point of view from within the world of the story, as opposed to my omniscient point of view from outside of it. So I came up  with something that I hope you all enjoy (as I definitely enjoyed writing it!)

So….when we first meet the character in UNREMEMBERED she’s being pulled from the wreckage of a devastating plane crash in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Because she has no memories of who she is and the police can’t match her fingerprints or DNA to any databases, her identity is a mystery and she becomes a celebrity overnight. Every news outlet in the country is covering the story, including the renowned Los Angeles Daily Tribune.

This is what they reported…

Unremembered by Jessica Brody on goodreads:

The only thing worse than forgetting her past… is remembering it.

When Freedom Airlines flight 121 went down over the Pacific Ocean, no one ever expected to find survivors. Which is why the sixteen-year-old girl discovered floating among the wreckage—alive—is making headlines across the globe.

Even more strange is that her body is miraculously unharmed and she has no memories of boarding the plane. She has no memories of her life before the crash. She has no memories period. No one knows how she survived. No one knows why she wasn’t on the passenger manifest. And no one can explain why her DNA and fingerprints can’t be found in a single database in the world.

Crippled by a world she doesn’t know, plagued by abilities she doesn’t understand, and haunted by a looming threat she can’t remember, Seraphina struggles to piece together her forgotten past and discover who she really is. But with every clue only comes more questions. And she’s running out of time to answer them.

Her only hope is a strangely alluring boy who claims to know her from before the crash. Who claims they were in love. But can she really trust him? And will he be able to protect her from the people who have been making her forget?

From popular young adult author, Jessica Brody comes a mesmerizing and suspenseful new series, set in a world where science knows no boundaries, memories are manipulated, and true love can never be forgotten.

  2. AHHHH! I loved this book Danny! I would think it would be crazy difficult as an author to write an introduction for a character like Sera given we as readers don’t know anything about her. She’s all mysterious and interesting and I need book 2 asap so I can find out more!!!

  3. Clearly Seraphina’s problem is that she has an evil stepmother who wanted to get rid of her so she (her stepmother) arranged for her to lose her memory (because she wasn’t ready to commit murder–a fact which she will later regret) and disappear so that she could inherit Seraphina’s dead father’s kingdom/wealth.

This is all so obvious I don’t know why everyone can’t see it. ;P

Uh, maybe she’s something supernatural (though I don’t think JB does supernatural)? Or she’s involved in something against her will and is the one who somehow caused the crash? No idea about the guy? Real boyfriend or her handler if she’s been manipulated?

Whoever they are, this sounds like an amazing and intriguing read, can’t wait!

  5. I have seen a lot of useful factors on your web site about computers. However, I have got the thoughts and opinions that laptop computers are still more or less not powerful more than enough to be a good option if you generally do projects that require a lot of power, just like video croping and editing. But for net surfing, microsoft word processing, and a lot other popular computer functions they are just fine, provided you cannot mind the small screen size. Thank you for sharing your notions.
