synopsis from goodreads
Last spring, Nikki Beckett vanished, sucked into an underworld known as the Everneath, where immortals Feed on the emotions of despairing humans. Now she’s returned- to her old life, her family, her friends- before being banished back to the underworld… this time forever.
She has six months before the Everneath comes to claim her, six months for good-byes she can’t find the words for, six months to find redemption, if it exists.
Nikki longs to spend these months reconnecting with her boyfriend, Jack, the one person she loves more than anything. But there’s a problem: Cole, the smoldering immortal who first enticed her to the Everneath, has followed Nikki to the mortal world. And he’ll do whatever it takes to bring her back- this time as his queen.
As Nikki’s time grows short and her relationships begin slipping from her grasp, she’s forced to make the hardest decision of her life: find a way to cheat fate and remain on the Surface with Jack or return to the Everneath and become Cole’s…
Look at the Cover… seriously! Look at it! Â Doesn’t this makes you want to read the book? It should and then.. you should just go ahead and read it! Why? Let me tell you!
Stunning Storytelling that is both intriguing and thrilling!
Nikki just came back from the Everneath, yet none of her friends or family knew where she where, including her boyfriend Jack. They were worried sick but couldn’t find a trace of her. How did Nikki end up in the Everneath, why would she leave behind a family, friends and her boyfriend? This is exactly what I also asked myself a few pages in the book. And to get to this answer the story is told “before” and “after” in alternating chapters. While I would think that this is always a confusing concept – it totally rocked here!!
It made me rush through the book and turned page after page. I wanted to know the whole story. What happened? And… what will happen now that she’s back? It was gripping!
Unique World Building – Greek Mythology and Persephone – but new and different!
While Everneath deals and plays with greek mystery it is yet totally different with a new and unique edge. The Everneath is like nothing I ever read before and it’s both terrifying and … intriguing. Brodi Ashton created the Everneath and took Greek Mythology, added the basic idea behind Persephone’s myth, made it her own and it works! I really enjoyed her take, and was intrigued! There more I read the more I wanted to learn.
Normally, I would now talk about the characters and start with the main. Yet here I have to start with the Boys!
Love Triangle – Good Boy – Bad Boy?
Seriously (Yes, I do love this word very much, Thank you), the boys rocked the book for me. There is Jack, Nikkis BF and well.. you can call him the Good Boy. However, the boy we met in the “before” part, meaning before Niki  disappeared is totally different from the “after” Jake. Nikki’s disappearance shaped him and changed him. Not in a bad way, but with a new edge that I liked very much.
On the other side there is the “Bad Boy” – Cole. Oh my gosh, girls! He’s awesome! And don’t get me wrong, he is the bad boy but once in a while you get a glimpse of him that makes you wonder if he truly is bad, or if there is something good in him too. He was one of the most complicated and mesmerizing characters I met in a long time. Can I cheer for the bad boy? Well, I totally do!
Nikki – our sad and lonely heroine.
Hm, she was the only part about the book that didn’t work that perfect for me. I liked her but I couldn’t completely connect with her. To her defense, she was in a really bad shape when she came back from the Everneath. However, Brodi Ashton did a very good job and showing the changes Nikki went through, her inner turmoil and her insecurities. I am absolutely certain that Nikki will grown on me in the next book, because I will most definitely read the next one!!
Bottom Line
This year most definitely started with a BANG. There are fantastic debuts and Everneath by Brodi Ashton is definitely among the Top releases. Greek Mythology and Persenophe’s story mashed in a  unique, thrilling and fascinating way combined with a gripping storytelling makes Everneath a true page turner.
Much Love,

Ohh, so glad you loved it too! Lol, I posted my review just now as well! Gosh, you said so many things I forgot to mention as well… I love your review! Perfect. Well, except the Nikki part I guess, since I seem to have managed to connect to her more than you! I agree about Cole, but I just couldn't like him in the story! I couldn't bare the thought of him destroying what she had with Jack… I'm sure I'd like him more under different circumstances though. o:

I agree about Cole, but somehow he got to me, there were some glimpses in the depth of his character that made me like him…

This has been on my TBR list (or should I say TBB for to be bought?) for months. Glad to see that you loved it. I adore books based on Greek mythology, especially if the authors put their own spin on the tale.

I got mine today and can't wait to read it! You are so right about books this year. It's like all the stellar books came out with a bang with the new year. If the year starts out this good, God help my wallet, I'm going to have to find a bookstore somewhere to work in! It won't even pay for the gas to get down there but maybe I'll get to read for free!! Cracking the book open just as soon as I close this comment up!

Not knowing much at all about Persephone, this book will be new to me no matter what happens. I have to say, I'm glad to hear Jake has a little more edge to him afterwards. It seems like it always has to be good boy vs. bad boy, but the good boy doesn't always have to be Mr. Nice and Squeaky Clean all the time; I'm looking forward to seeing how much of an edge he has.

Yes this cover makes me want to read Everneath, it's what caught my attention the first time and it still looks gorgeous no matter how many times I see it. I am a pretty big fan of love triangles, I mean we get two awesome guys to read about if it is written right. I absolutely love bad boys everytime so I am already rooting for Cole. The world of Everneath sounds so awesome and unique but at the same time is based of off Greek mythology. Now that I love the most. I definitely can't wait til I read this book I just know I will love it very much.
