synopsis from goodreads:

One month into her junior year, sixteen-year-old Violet McKenna transfers to the Winterhaven School in New York’s Hudson Valley, inexplicably drawn to the boarding school with high hopes. Leaving Atlanta behind, she’s looking forward to a fresh start–a new school, and new classmates who will not know her deepest, darkest secret, the one she’s tried to hide all her life: strange, foreboding visions of the future.

But Winterhaven has secrets of its own, secrets that run far deeper than Violet’s. Everyone there–every student, every teacher–has psychic abilities, ‘gifts and talents,’ they like to call them. Once the initial shock of discovery wears off, Violet realizes that the school is a safe haven for people like her. Soon, Violet has a new circle of friends, a new life, and maybe even a boyfriend–Aidan Gray, perhaps the smartest, hottest guy at Winterhaven.

Only there’s more to Aidan than meets the eye–much, much more. And once she learns the horrible truth, there’s no turning back from her destiny. Their destiny. Together, Violet and Aidan must face a common enemy–if only they can do so without destroying each other first.

I loved this book! The moment I saw the synopsis from this book, I knew I’d want to read this and I really enjoyed every page! I read this book in one day, I couldn’t stop, there was no point where I could have put this one down!

Ok, what do we need for a good story,
 a story you enjoy?

First of all we need a good story and a intriguing plotline, add in some paranormal mystery and some surprising moments. Then we need ( which is even more important) characters you can fall in love with. A main character you can identify yourself with and of course … a swoon worthy mysterious guy! Oh and of course, the love with some sexy moments…! *le sigh*

Well guys, Haven had all that!
..and more!

So there is Violet who always had this visions, but of course she could tell no one around her. She tried when she was younger but people got freaked out about that. When she arrives at Winterhaven ( a expensive boarding school) she realizes that the school is not like a normal school. Every kid has certain gifts, some small, others really powerful. Finally she makes friends and doesn’t feel like a freak.
Life’s good… Until, she discovers mystery after mystery and learns something about herself that she would have never ever guess! Nor will you 😉

Aidan…
“The Aidan effect?”
“Yeah, he makes us all gooey and speechless..(..)”
Haven, p29

Then.. there is *hold your breath girls* Aidan, the mysterious guy that is of course the most gorgeous boy she’s ever seen. But, he’s even more mysterious than all the other kids at school, yet she’s supposed to work with him to catch up with the missing school stuff.

Chemistry! Right from the start those two had a wonderful chemistry…and also a sexy one *winks*! There was no denial that those two would fall for each other, they simply had to!

Violet wants to find out the mystery behind this guy and when she does…. *whooops* no spoilers, you need to read yourself!

What’s better than a book that is able to surprise you??

But, this book holds so many  secrets, it’s awesome!! Of course, some of the stuff you might guess, but I promise you there is so sooo much more! The plot twists and turns in an incredible way! Truly, apart from the wonderful relationship between Aidan and Violet the surprising moments are the best.

Final Verdict:

This was a fast page turner, with so many surprising twists and turns that will
leave you speechless! Haven is a wonderful story that is mysterious, beautiful and sexy, with great paranormal elements and beautiful developed characters. A gorgeous boy, that is dark, mysterious but falls in love with our girl will leave the girls swooning over him…
…and, you guessed it.
I love Aidan!!
Which is why I have a surprise for you later this week!
… you don’t want to miss this!
Promise!
It might, or might not include a giveaway…

Wow, it sounds like you really loved this book. While you would think that the whole school with students who have special abilities might make this just ho hum, it sounds like the characterization and plot twist make this a book worth reading. Thanks for the awesome review I will have to check Haven out.

I'm so glad you read this! I've been wondering what this one was about! I couldn't tell if I wanted to take the plunge and have not seen one review on this one anywhere. Can't wait to read it now! Great review and thanks for not giving away any spoilers. Isn't there always a swoon worthy guy? That's what makes these books!

  3. Oh man! You make me want to read this one RIGHT NOW! It sounds so good! It's definitely on my WL, now if I can be really good and not buy any books until it's release then maybe I can splurge and get it.

You know I used to read your blog all the time but I've been horrible about getting to it! So I'm going to subscribe by email. I still may not be great at commenting because I read it on my phone quite often. But I really love your reviews!

I also noticed that the new design I'm having made has flying books like yours! That wasn't on purpose! I promise! I had forgotten your flying books even though you have a very memorable design and I can always remember your blog name and picture the header. Oh well, the rest of my design is very different!

    Thanks for the review Danny.

Oh and the flying books? *giggles* you know how many times I used them already in other layouts for other bogs? Don't worry, I'm sure nobody will even notice this. I'm excited to see your new design!!!

  7. Right, the cover could haven been done so much better;( It doesn't show the potential of the book! I thought they wanted to change it, but apparently they didn't!

As much as a good cover can hide a bad book, can a treasure box be found in a not so exciting cover :))
