It’s Danny here today sharing my ….
Super Six Books that made me cry. hard!
If you followed this blog for a bit, you might know that I am an emotional reader and that I like to cry. I love when a book makes me feel so much that I will cry big watery tears. And today I am more than excited to share you you the books that made me cry the most!
Have you read If I Stay and Where She Went by Gale Forman? I was late to the party when I read them this year and holy cow, These books made me cry so so hard! It’s a beautiful story about loss and love that made me shiver. Truly, I think I was sobbing throuout the whole book.
Every Day totally took me by surprise. I was not completely sold on the concept and on the cover to be honest so when I was reading this insanely heartbreaking story I was so super surprised. The story of the genderless soul “A” who fells in love and who never knew love before was so incredible that I was was crying to many times. The ending also left me sobbing!
Even thinking about “Slammed” and “Point of Retreat” makes me tear up. If you could see me right now, you’d see the tiny tears starting to well in my eyes. It’s the story of a 18 year old Larkin who lost her dad and feels in love with the beautiful and soulful Will who lost his parents and raises his brother all alone. There is so much pain and heartbreak in these pages that it broke my heart over and over again. These books are one of the best New Adult books I have ever read, seriously!
Julie Kagawa is a master storyteller. I keep saying this over and over again. But it was The Iron Queen – book 3 in the Iron Fey series that made me cry so hard. I remember reading the last 10% of the books with tears in my eyes. Julie really didn’t spare us anything in this third book. The whole series is one of my favorite series and The Iron Queen was definitely a highlight among this series!
The Fallen Series by Lauren Kate is another favorite series of mine. The Fallen Series is such an epic love story that it will always have a place in my heart. I’ve shed a lot of tears during this series but I think the last book “Rapture” was the most heartbreaking one. I was always always hoping for Luce and Daniel to find peace, happiness and love – and they were searching for each other for million of years, yet their love was so strong. Ahh this epicness!
It’s no secret that I am a huge HUGE fan of Katie McGarry. Pushing The Limits will always hold a special place in my heart! I remember that I was sobbing like crazy over the sadness of Echo’s an Noah’s story. And then there were moments that were so touching that again I was tearing up. This book seriously broke my heart and was one of the most emotional books for me.
*wipes away some tears*
*takes a deep breath*
So guys, now I m so dying to know which books made you cry. I am always searching for the next touching books that will make me cry!

I still haven’t read Where She Went. I’ve been saving it for a time when I can reread If I Stay first. I loved If I Stay. It was one of those sobbing in the bathroom till 3 AM kind of reads.

PTL will always have a special place in my heart. And honestly, I am too chicken to read Forbidden… There can’t be a happy ending so I’m not ready to read it!

Forbidden sat on my bookshelf for over six months before I decided to read it. It had been an impulse buy. The writing is amazing, I would reread it again for that, but I was gutted by the ending. I think that’s why there is now a warning in the blurb about the ending.
Every time I think about PTL and Forbidden, I cry. 🙂

Big baby. Heh. I both love and hate books that make me cry. Gayle Foreman certainly did with that series. Same with Katie McGarry. *shakes fist* Darn them!

I have to say that I am not a big cryer when it comes to books, but there is one that has melted my ice cold heart to get to the warm fuzzies inside. That was Awakened by P.C. and Kristin Cast. A certain character’s death just got to me, and I ended up sobbing. I was always averse to crying about books until then, and now I kind of hope that I can encounter another book that makes me feel that emotion again. So, I am definitely gonna check out the books on this list. Especially The Iron Queen and Rapture since I have followed those books the most.

I like books that make me feel and I like it the most when a book manages to really leave me sobbing. The Iron Queen was so intense it was such a fantastic book in the series, so if you started with the series you should read on!

I’m not a huge cryer, but books which have brought a tear to my eye include The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, Jodi Picoult’s My Sister’s Keeper and The Return of the King by J. R. R. Tolkein (I’m such a geek!).
Great list!

If I Stay just wasn’t my story then I guess. The Iron Queen made me cry, too. It was such a good book!!! I have only read Fallen by Lauren Kate so far, but have the other books waiting on my shelf. I’m a bit scared now that I know that you cried while reading the 4th book in the series. Luce and Daniel need a happy end!

Oh no, you didn’t like If I Stay? It was such an ameotional and strong book for me that stayed for a very long time…
And don’t worry about a Happy Ending for Daniel and Luce, I thankfully didn’t cry over the ending.

I definitely shed some ugly tears when I read Pushing the Limits, especially for Noah’s storyline with his brothers. I haven’t read If I Stay because I’m scared I’m going to be sobbing through the whole thing.
