It’s Danny here today sharing my ….
Super Six bookish kick-ass Heroines!
This week’s topic actually came from Jenny (Supernatural Snark) while we were talking about some fun topic for the upcoming weeks!
It’s no secret that I love the Fever series from Karen Marie Moning so so bad! And Mac is one of the fiercest heroines I’ve come across. I might be a little blinded by my love, but it’s still true. What makes her also so unique is that she was not always this fierce kick ass girl, in the beginning she’s nothing like this. She’s a nice girl who only cared about clothes and make up, but when she’s trusted into the horrible world she evolves and gets stronger and stronger! I loved this change and development about her!
The Bloodlines Series! I guess many would rather pick Rose from the Vampire Academy, but for me, Sidney is even stronger. She has a different kind of strength one I absolutely admire. She’s super smart and she has to battle her strong upbringing which made her hate all Vampires, but Sidney always made up her own mind and I loved this about her. She is more mentally strong, smart and clever than really kick ass physically strong, but I think that makes her stand out and got her on my list!
I mean, Cealena is a kick ass assassin for freak’s sake. She can kick major butt. But, that’s not all I love about her and what made her getting on my list. Because besides her stealthy and deadly abilities she#s still a girl inside and I love that she can be both – kick ass strong and soft and girls on the other side. I did love her already in Throne of Glass , but the small Novella’s talking about her earlier life even made me understand her better. In Crown of Midnight she got even stronger and more fierce!
Squeals!!! A List with kick-ass heroines without Cat from The Night Huntress Series? Not going to happen! Cat is amazing and She’s definitely kick-ass awesome right from the beginning. She was always determined to kill all bloody Vampires even though she had no clear idea about what she was doing, yet all she had was her fierce hate and determination. When then Bones came into the pictures he made Cat even stronger and I can only ever admire her!
Holy Awesome that is Charley Davidson! How can anyone not love this woman!!!!! She’s most definitely kick ass strong, but it’s also the way she handles every situation with the most wit and smart fun that makes her stand out from all the other characters. There is nothing quite like her. She’s smart and truly strong not only physically but also mentally and I love her compassion.
(Psst, you can win an audiobook copy of this series right now)
This list without Hermine Granger??? No way!! And I cannot help but think about Hermine without seeing the beautiful Emma Watson in front of me. She impersonated Hermine so perfectly! She’s so incredible smart and always keeps her wits together even in the most direst situations. Without Hermine the boys would have been lost and of course.. they know this! She the perfect girl who is utterly brave, incredibly smart and clever but can kick butt when she needs to. In my opinion she’s the strongest and most awesome characters in the Harry Potter books and there should always be a place in the hall of kick-ass heroines for Hermine Granger.
So now my friends I am excited to hear about your kickass heroines! And to be honest I think I need another round to talk about all my favorite heroines… so this topic is definitely coming back at some point!

Absolutely agree with the girls from the books I read. All the others are on my TBR list.
Also I think you forgot the “o” in Hermione Granger? lol

Ahh! Yes, in German she’s written without “o” and since I’m so used to write it that way I forgot ;-( thanks for telling me.

I still have to read most of those series, but I love Celaena! That was my favourite book last year, and I can’t wait until I have the second book in my hands 🙂 Great list this weekend!

Oh my goodness you have such a great list. I picked Cealena for my list too!! Sydney was a great choice as well! If I had read Harry Potter I may have been able to appreciate Hermine’s spot on your list although she kicked major bootay in the movies (I know not the same). I haven’t heard of or read the other books so I will have to check those out and see what you mean when I read them! Thank you for making this amazing meme and I hope you have an amazing Sunday!

I absolutely love this list-how fun! Mac and Charlie would have definitely been on my list too. Some of my other favorites are: Dani O’Malley from a spin off of The Fever series, Kate Daniels from Magic Bites series, Cat from Night Huntress series, and Jane Yellowrock from the Jane Yellowrock series. So many choices-but those are a few of my favorites.

I almost, ALMOST, put Cat on my list Danny! She was on my runner up list because I absolutely adore her. Hermione is an awesome choice as well, I can’t believe I didn’t even think of her! You know I agree with you completely on Mac, her transition from bubbly rainbow girl to dark, damaged, and utterly badass woman who managed to snag an equally badass Barrons is just amazing. LOVE THAT SERIES!

I’m so glad you picked Sydney, Danny! She was at the top of my list too. Sometimes Rose is over the top, as much as I like her. Sydney has a subtle yet powerful strength.
I really need to start participating in this.

two thumbs up for Hermonie!! I have yet to read Bloodlines, but I loved Vampire Academy. I think I’m just scared it won’t live up to it, but besides her very awesome name, Sydney Sage sounds like a heroine I would love 😀
