Dead Silence by Kimberly Derting – Blog Tour and Giveaway

Posted 2 April, 2013 by Danny in Blog, Blog Tour, Danny, Featured, Giveaways / 62 Comments

Today I’m pretty excited to be part of Kimberly Derting Blog Tour for her newest release “Dead Silence” (Book 4 in the Body Finder Series) at the Bookworms. I have a pretty awesome post from Kimberly which made me giddy just reading it and below you’ll find a Giveaway!

DeadSilence

Dead Silence is the 4th book in the amazing Body Finder series. And.. apart from the main character Violet who is made of awesome, there is one character I nearly love more than her: Jay Heaton. He’s the poster boy of the lovely Boy Next Door or the Best Friend you fall in love with. Even though I love the bad boys so much, Jay is the perfect exception. He’s sweet, cute but he loves Violet with all his heart and I feel pretty hard for him too. So, I asked Kimberly if she could touch the subject of the Bad Boy versus the lovable Boy Next Door and I’m excited to hand the blog over to her now talking about .. Boys! Wooot!!

The Bad Boy versus The Boy Next Door by Kimberly Derting

Boys…gotta love ‘em. And there’s no shortage of different kinds of boys. Tall boys, short boys, nerdy boys, athletic ones, and those who like kittens and volunteer in soup kitchens.

And then there are the bad ones, you know these guys—the kind who roll up on their Harley’s, unshaven—maybe without a shirt—who can make your jaw drop with just the wiggle of an eyebrow.

Then there are the other ones, too. That boy you’ve known most of your life. The one who actually gets your inside jokes, remembers your birthday, and carries your books. He sneaks in under the radar, wiggling his way into your heart when you don’t see him coming, until, before you know it, you can’t remember what it’s like to live without him.

Now, let’s break this down, shall we? We’ll call today’s lesson…The Weird Science of Boys:

Bad Boys:

He drinks extra-black coffee from Styrofoam cups and most definitely does not recycle.

He wears Levi 501s and whatever t-shirt that is laying on the floor next to his bed (which is most definitely not made).

He’s cocky, arrogant, and has abs of steel, but never has to work out!

He lives by his own rules and to hell with the consequences!

He says what he wants, when he wants, and it still makes your heart race.

He shows the world his bad attitude but only shows you his heart of gold.

The Boy Next Door:

He drinks a double-shot mocha, but also brings you your favorite drink, which he always remembers.

He letters in track/baseball/football and wears his Varsity jacket everywhere. He’ll give it to you, though, if you’re cold.

He’s sweet and attentive and also has abs of steel. (He should take off his shirt more often!)

He’s a stickler for the rules and is most definitely someone who recycles.

He has a hard time finding the right thing to say—especially when it comes to you. It took him forever to tell you how he feels.

He wears his heart on his sleeve but when he finally gives it to you, you won’t ever want to give it back.

So there you have it…the good, the bad, and the Boy Next Door.

Which boy would you choose? I’m guessing there are a few of you out there who would like one of each, am I right???

Ahaha. how much I love this post!! To answer Kimberly’s Questions, I think I go with the Bad Boy… even though Jay would be the perfect exception. Love this boy so much :)) However, usually, I am more drawn to the bad boys with lots of attitude … UhhUhh..

  1. Oh yes, this post is awesome! I go for the bad boy. I married the bad boy. Luckily he’s not TOO bad and is kind of a mix of the two I guess. Usually in books bad boys are more interesting but if I was single in real life I would WANT for myself to want the sweet boy next door.

Thanks so much for hosting a tour stop! This was wonderful!

I love the story. I can’t wait to read Dead Silence.

As for the bad boy and the boy next door, it would be the boy next door. After all, he and I could have been best friends and it could it up something more than friendship.

I can’t wait to get my greedy hands on this book! I’d look forward to what Violet might have to deal with her own sense of death imprint and who’s she has to save this time around! I love Jay and Violet(I miss them!)

  8. I am DEFINITELY a boy next door kind of girl. Bad boys don’t appeal to me at all. The only thing that most bad boys have that I would want in a guy is a sense of adventure, but I would not sacrifice all those other things just for that. 😛

I must say that I am a lucky girl. My amazing hubby is a little bit of both. He is the bad boy on the Harley, who says screw the rules (except for those most important, of course!). The world thinks he is a bad ass, but to me he has the world’s biggest heart. He DEFINITELY doesn’t make his bed, and yes his shirt sits on the floor right beside it. But he never forgets my birthday or our anniversary. He doesn’t surprise me with roses, but with music and books and chocolates and things that I mentioned I would like to have a year ago, and he remembers. SO to all those gals that are still looking, go for the inbetweeners! I have dated pure bad boys, and pure good guys, and they never quite stole me completely until I met my inbetweener!
