Today we have two special guests. Lily and Scout from Chloe Neil’s YA series Firespell. The first book in the series came out earlier this year and the second is about to be released January 20th! Chloe is again going on tour and the Bookworms were lucky enough to get a date on her Tour.

So please welcome Lily and Scout on the blog!

Welcome Girls, I’m glad you had the time to show up here. (*whispers to Scout* but don’t steal the whole show, k?)

Scout: I will do what I can. But I can’t make any promises.

Lily: *rolls her eyes*

We start with an easy one: Lily how would you describe Scout?

Lily: I would describe her as having worked much too hard to put that outfit together. *Looking at Scout’s yellow leggings, yellow sweater, and yellow Converses*

Scout: Aw, you don’t like this? I was going for “sunny and cheerful.”

Lily:: You look like a road sign.

Scout: A happy road sign?

Lily: Sure?

Scout:Then mission accomplished.

Lily: Let’s add “goofy” to my description of Scout. Although she is pretty awesome, I guess.

Scout how would you describe Lily?

Scout: Lacking in a certain fashion sense, but still pretty cool.

Lily:: *Sticking out tongue at Scout*

Lily how does it feel to have kind of magical power and that you’re now part of this secret society? Are you scared?
Excited?

Lily: I am still kinda freaked out, honestly. I mean, I feel really fortunate, I guess, that I get to see this entire other world, but on the other hand, it’s kind of exhausting, you know? I dream of the days when I got eight full hours of sleep a night.

Scout: I totally second that emotion.

Scout, are you happy that you can now share this secret with Lily?

Scout: It does make the sneaking out at night a lot easier. On the other hand, you kinda hope your BFF gets spared
the danger and soul-eating bad guys, you know?

Girls, wanna talk about boys? *looks a Lily*

Lily: *Blushing* I’m kind of dating this guy named Jason, I guess?

Scout: *Singing* Lily loves a werewolf! Lily loves a werewolf!

Lily: *Punches Scout in arm* I do not. I just kind of like him some. And you’re one to talk. You’re crazy in love with Michael Garcia.

Scout: *Blushing* Whatever.

Scout, do you think Jason might be the right one for Lily?

Scout: *Shrugging* Jason’s pretty cool. And he seems like he’s got the patience to put up with her.

Lily: I do not require patience.

Scout: See? Very argumentative. *Grinning*

Can anyone tell us what will happen in Hexbound?

Scout: Chloe’s got us on the lockdown, but I can say there’s excitement, magic, danger and romance!

Lily:You sound like a bad movie announcer.

Scout:: Wait, like I did a bad job, or the movie was bad.

Lily: *Grinning* Yes.

I guess that’s enough for today, thanks so much girls and … thanks Scout for behaving :))

Lily:Thanks for having us!

Scout: *Waving* Goodbye!

goodreads

Here is an expect from my Firespell Review:

(..)But what I enjoyed mostly were the dialogues. Truly, Chloe Neil has a way with sarcastic and truly funny dialogues. This makes the characters so much more interesting and worth loving.

Synopsis from Hexbound:
(goodreads)

Lily Parker is new to St. Sophia’s School for Girls, but she’s already learned that magic can be your best friend…or your worst enemy.

They say absolute power corrupts absolutely. Turns out, even a little magic can turn you to the dark side. That’s why Lily has to learn how to control her newly discovered paranormal abilities, on top of avoiding the snobs who think they run her school, nursing a crush on a cute sophomore with a big, werewolf-y secret, and fighting the good fight with her best friend Scout as they take on Chicago’s nastiest nightlife—including the tainted magic users known as Reapers.
Then Lily’s invited to a private meeting with Sebastian. He’s hot, powerful, and offering to help her harness the magic flowing in her veins in a way no one else can. He’s also a Reaper. Lily can’t hide her suspicions. But she’ll soon find out that the line between good and evil isn’t always clear…

I hope you’re giving this series a chance because the characters are truly awesome! Plus Chloe Neil in an incredible writer that creates unique and awesome characters like Lily and Scout!
