Super 6 BooksĀ I’m Glad I Took A Chance On!
You know how it goes… you see a book that sounds interesting but you’re not sure. Ā Or you fall in love with the cover but you’ve never read anything by the author…should you take a chance?
YES!!!
Here’s why!!
My first Libba Bray novel, Going Bovine was an amazing introduction into the powerful prose of this author!
I’m not a big reader of contemporary romance, but when this book was available for review I chose it on a lark. Ā I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!! Jennifer Smith’s fun, witty writing style totally had me hooked and I’m so happy I chose to read it!
I love Middle Grade, but I’ve never read a lot of Lovecraftian fiction. Ā This series, however, was AMAZING! Ā I loved the characters and the plot line and how accessible this made speculative fiction to young kids. Ā Definitely glad I tried this one out!
When I ready Monstrous Beauty by Elizabeth Fama, I was worried it would come off to twee or too emulative of other mermaid stories. Ā I couldn’t have been more wrong. Ā This book, filled with strong characters, an amazing, twisting plot and a lush writing style could not have been more enjoyable. Ā LOVED THIS!!
Again,m another lark, this time from my local library. Ā THANK GOODNESS I had the chance to read these books! Ā They’re visceral and raw and flat out amazing! Ā SO, SO, SOOOOO GOOD!
I’ll admit with this one, I fell in love with the cover of the second book and then had to get excited about the first book, who’s cover was not in the same style. Ā But this story, so fresh and unique, and the historical/paranormal setting drew me in. Ā I’ve thoroughly enjoyed these 3 books and can’t wait for the next two!
So those are MY top 6 books that I’m so glad I took a chance on. Ā What about you?
What books are you glad you took a shot on? Ā Can you narrow it down to only 6???

I read The Chaos Walking trilogy too and really enjoyed it! I’ve had Going Bovine on my reading list forever – but haven’t gotten around to it, so tanks for the reminder š

Oooo, Libba Bray! I love her to pieces. Going Bovine is still one of my favorites from her and I’m so glad I read it. I plan to re-read it, actually.
I haven’t heard of any of the other books you mentioned, but they’re worth checking out. š

I’m still toying with reading stuff by Patrick Ness. I know he has a huge following, but there’s just something I’m not sure about. I guess I should just take the plunge!

I also took a chance on This Is What Happy Looks Like because I hadn’t loved Smith’s first book, but I loved it! It turned out to be one of my favorite YA contemps of the year.
On the other hand, I’ve yet to read Going Bovine, even though I think it was one of the first book I added to by tbr shelf when I first joined Goodreads! I’ll have to read it one day soon.

The Nokia 5228 is such a good phone that has the price of
a midrange phone and features of a high end phone. In addition, create a sense of beauty by adding themes to the frames either with the help of a professional designer or personalized one.
