Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
Expected publication:Â February 5th 2013 by Feiwel and Friends
Goodreads| Amazon | B&N | IndieBound
I have to admit, this cover has grown on me since it was released! Â At first I didn’t love it, but now I like it more, particularly the hair streaming out along with the cape.
Cinder returns in the second thrilling installment of the New York Times-bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.
Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn’t know about her grandmother and the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she has no choice but to trust him, though he clearly has a few dark secrets of his own.
As Scarlet and Wolf work to unravel one mystery, they find another when they cross paths with Cinder. Together, they must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen who will do anything to make Prince Kai her husband, her king, her prisoner.
I could not be more excited to get my paws on second step in Cinder’s journey!!!!
If you haven’t had a chance to read Cinder yet, you can check out my review here and you’ll understand just WHY I’m so over the moon (get it?) over this series!!!!!

I never read Cinder, but I’ve heard so many good things about it that I think I’m gonna have to pick it up. I agree that the cover for this is a bit wonky but I think it will grow on me too. 🙂

I wasn’t IN LOVE with Cinder, but I did still enjoy it enough to want to read the sequel. I’m looking forward to meeting the new characters in this book. Great pick! 🙂

I absolutely loved this book and couldn’t wait for the sequel. However, my eye started twitching when I saw it wasn’t solely about her, but appeared to be mostly about Scarlet.
Though I was intrigued to see what Meyer does with other fairytale characters, I’d really hoped to get a good dose of Cinder in this one ’cause I wanted to see what happened with her story. This is the first description I’ve seen that really makes it seem like Cinder will be in it a fair amount.
Can’t wait for it!
