super cute!Â
A coming-of-age tale of fan fiction, family and first love.Â
Cath is a Simon Snow fan.
Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan . . .
But for Cath, being a fan is her life — and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving.
Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere.
Cath’s sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can’t let go. She doesn’t want to.
Now that they’re going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She’s got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words . . . And she can’t stop worrying about her dad, who’s loving and fragile and has never really been alone.
For Cath, the question is: Can she do this? Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? Writing her own stories?
Or will she just go on living inside somebody else’s fiction?
How much do I love this whole package?? the cover is utter cuteness and the synopsis sounds seriously awesome!!! Crossover between Young Adult and New Adult and … Fanfiction! Gosh, I read tons of fanfiction and I love it! This books sounds awesome!
And… this book will be at BEA! yeaaaah! Cannot wait!
Much Love,

I’m so glad this will be at BEA. How did you know that? Does it say so in the catalog? I’m obsessed with this book already just from the synopsis. You and Mary both featured it this week and now I’m super excited.

I agree that this one sounds amazing. Having first-hand experience in the fannish world, I can’t wait to see a book that uses that particular plot device!

This one is on NetGalley! I got it last week. I haven’t read anything by Rainbow (there’s a book called Eleanor and Park by her?), but I am confident that this book will be great! It sounds really interesting 😀

ahaha, I think this will be a book with a main character I’ll find fairly easy to relate to. I hope you get an ARC! (Or I get an ARC. But I will not be going to BEA so my chances are slim… I think it might be on Netgalley too). It’ll be interesting to see what you think of it!

Yes, yes, YES!! I had this up as my WoW a few weeks ago. I just received it last week for review, and I was SO EXCITED! I don’t know how I’m ever going to wait until September to read this beauty. I absolutely adored Eleanor & Park, and I hope this one is just as wonderful. Great pick! 🙂

I am SO excited for this book!! That cover is cuteness, and I know I’m going to be able to relate a little too much to the MC, with all the fandom-related stuff, lol.
