Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water—just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They’re powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death. And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.Secrets are hard to keep when your life’s at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who’s hiding the most dangerous truth of all.The storm is coming . . .
When so many people keep telling you that this book is awesome, then they simply might be right! After I read awesome after awesome review I picked up a copy as soon as it came out… *sigh* I can’t tell you how happy this made me … Reading this book made me happy!

Amazing Paranormal twist – explosive Plot – Hot Boys

Seriously, do you need more? This concept speaks for itself and it totally delivered everything what the premise promised. Even more, each book will feature one of the boys – similar to what we know from a good paranormal adult romance and I love that this concept is explored here in a YA themed story. The paranormal twist is perfect and just right – Those boys can wield the power of the elements and they are surprisingly powerful with this. Yet, none of them felt like having a super power that makes them unbelievable strong. For each power comes a weakness which kept them grounded! The paranormal aspect was fresh, unique and worked perfectly for me.

4 + plus 1 Hot Boys – Brilliant Cast of Characters

Of course we have to take a closer look at the boys and .. girls be warned – those boys are hot and we have 4 of them! (5 if you count Hunter…, who I definitely count in!)

Michael? He brought me to tears, beautiful damaged brave boy!
Chris? You must fall for him just like Becca..sexy, rebellious but sweet and protective!
The twins? So alike and yet so different! Totally have a soft spot for Nik!

Not one of the brothers but still hot: Hunter: I loved his character, even though he as so contradictory. He’s awesome and mysterious and I need to know more about him!

These boys are phenomenal and I loved their family bond and the tension between them was so very real…Family issues were addressed and Brigid Kremmer didn’t shy away from addressing problems and tension between the boys. I expected them to have the perfect family even though the boys were alone, yet it was far from this and made the story so much more real and amazing! My heart broke for each of the boys for different reasons!

Seriously you have to meet them for yourself, that’s all I’m going to say about this. You will fall for them, just like I did and I can’t wait to read each of their stories!!

Strong Female Lead and a Triangle….

Becca was strong heroine, she was kick-ass and I loved her instantly!! She was brave and self-less and just easy to connect to. I mean, we always love to see kick-ass heroine’s that don’t take crap and are able to defend themselves – not the classic Damsel in Distress attitude. Becca is different and for that I loved and admired her.

I have to warn you though that there is a Love Triangle but… even though I normally hate them, it worked perfectly and honest here! Yeah for Brigid Kremmer for making me like it for once!

I know, I won’t get enough from this series!!!

Bewitched Rating

Bottom Line

Storm by Brigd Kremmer is a phenomenal kick off in a new paranormal series that has everything we all love in this genre.  Brilliant cast of characters, explosive fast paced story – twists that keep you on edge and not one, but 4 hot boys! Clearly, be ready to fall for those boys!

Additional Notes

Even more awesome,  we will get our next “fix” already in August! I looooove when I do not have to wait for a year until the next book comes out! The next book “Fearless” takes place in between Elementals 1 and 2 and features Hunter. Book 2 “Spark” will be from Gabriel’s POV (he’s one of the Twins) also coming in August. “Spirit” Book 3 will come May next year, but I’m sure there will be a novella in between! I admire such a creative talent like Brigid! And because we all love the hotness, here are the covers!

in order:

Elementals (Michael, 0.5 out now!) – Fearless (Hunter, 1.5 Aug 2011) – Spark (Gabriel, 2Aug 2011) – Spirit (Hunter, 3  May 2013)

*sigh*

don’t you love this concept? Different Boys, different POV’s and always featuring a different boy?

Much Love,

  1. 5 of them? Well count me in LOL. And yay for you loving this book. I have been eyeing this book for a while now but I wasn’t sure if I should pick it up but you convinced me. As soon as I can, I will try to get this one.

Glad the heroine is bad-ass, too. Fun review, Danny 🙂

  2. Reading your REVIEW made me happy — I’m SO glad that you’re on the train of awesome people who fell in love with Brigid’s debut like me! One of my favourite things about this was the bond between brothers too because it was real and flawed and that made it all the more swoon-worthy! 😉 Plus, I just love how you have a soft spot for the nice twin instead of the badass one — I feel like everyone’s in love with Gabriel, but Nick is a total sweetheart too! :’)

Absolutely AMAZING review, Danny! I’m glad we don’t have to wait another year for the next installment — that would’ve been torture! x) <3

Sweeeetieee!!! Reading your comment makes me happy!!! You put it perfectly, I love the family bons between the brothers and I loved how real they were. But, didn’t your heart broke for them? Those poor boys need us to hug them!!!

It’s so unlike me! I normally love the bad boys more, but here, Nick just does it for me and I cannot wait to hear is story. And it’s not like I won’t love Gabriel too, because holy cow I can’t wait for his book!

OoOO I felt sooo sorry for Michael!! Poor boy suddenly being a Dad and not a Boy anymore and trying hard to get the brotherly love back. He is a heartbreaking character.. *sniffles*
Loved the Triangle! And I loved Hunter, can’t wait to read his book!

I’m not pumped about the love triangle situation *sigh* but I do think they sometimes are done well and I’m glad you think this one is one of those times:) Awesome review!

    EPIC SWOOOOOOOON!

I’m kind of leery about that triangle, but if you’re convinced it worked for the story, then I totally trust you on that. This book is one I will read for our challenge. *squee*

I think this book looks like it could be really good but the first time I saw it I snorted at the cover and almost passed right by it because it looks like someone’s trying to get together a boy band from the ’80s.

And the fact that you liked it so much and are actuallly thumbs-upping a love triangle?! I’ll definitely have to check it out!

    Reply »

    Danny 5/24/2012

Oh my gosh yes!!! I mean everyone is gushing about this cover, but I personally do not like the 80s hair style, nor do I picture Chris like this I mean he’s described as dark messy hair with blue eyes… This guy in the front looks nothing like this.

but, apart from this, I truly loved the story and even liked the Triangle!!

  17. Danny-
*digs through books for copy of Storm* I knew this one would be like that. But it can’t rival The Hex Boys! There are six of them. Still, you’ve got me looking for my copy. I meant to read it at soon as it came. It was one I debated, do we eat hot dogs for a week or do I buy this book too. In the end the book won out because I knew it was going to be one of those books! I’ll put Spark on my list for August! I don’t mind a love triangle if it’s needed or it works. Great swoony review!!!

Yeah, I agree with the reading! But my family, they might disagree. I’ve only got one reader so far and he’s 12. I don’t think he’ll go for Storm and friends!
But, that’s okay. That’s what birthday’s are for. Got one in September and I always use that generous gift for books! I’ll catch up then. Can’t wait to see these guys on the My Book Boyfriend meme. Or I might have missed the. I’ll have to check.

  18. Oh goodness sounds like I should get around to reading this book then. I have it on my shelf that the publisher sent me unsolicited so I didn’t have room for it in my reading queue at the time. But hopefully in the upcoming months I will since I haven’t been requesting anything what with the baby due this week! I look forward to it!
