Passion
by Lauren Kate
Book III in the Fallen series
Published June 14th 2011 by Delacorte Books for Young Readers
copy received from publisher at BEA
synopsis from goodreads:

“Every single lifetime, I’ll choose you. Just as you have chosen me. Forever.”

Luce would die for Daniel. And she has. Over and over again. Throughout time, Luce and Daniel have found each other, only to be painfully torn apart: Luce dead, Daniel left broken and alone. But perhaps it doesn’t need to be that way. . . .

Luce is certain that something—or someone—in a past life can help her in her present one. So she begins the most important journey of this lifetime . . . going back eternities to witness firsthand her romances with Daniel . . . and finally unlock the key to making their love last.

Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are as frantic as Daniel. He chases Luce through their shared pasts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history.

Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames . . . forever.

5 stars is not enough … make it a 5 with a crown, or a star… This was epic wonderment, full of love and heartbreak and I had tears in my eyes nearly the whole time listening to it.. Seriously, the title couldn’t be more fitting. I loved Fallen and Torment but Passion is the brilliant masterpiece so far in this series.

Luce travels back in time…

…. and visits her old self. She watches how she and Daniel fall in love, are in love only for Luce to die – over and over and over again. This love is so heartbreaking, so full of epic love and passion it makes my heart swell just not thinking about it.

She travels further back and back to get to the bottom of the love between them. She wants to understand, why this circle of love and loss happens. But also, why Daniel loves her. Does he love truly the Luce she is right now? Or a picture of an old Luce, what is it?

Daniel chases her, desperate to read her ….

Daniel is on her heels, trying to get to her and help her on her path back in time. But he’s always a fraction to late. Also Daniel has to watch his younger self with the love of his life and … also see her die…

Both try to find the loophole in their ancient curse, something they can do to change the past so that they can be together – forever! But for that, they have to find the beginning.

I was sobbing, truly sobbing so so often!

You will learn so very much about Daniel and Luce, we get to understand their love while Luce is jumping back in time. What you learn about Daniel will break your heart, I was sobbing a few times, literally sobbing.

Bottom Line

I am in awe! This is perfection, “Passion” has it all: the love, the desperation, the wonderment of soul mates, the beauty and the heartbreak. Everything I’m looking for in a novel, I found here. Thank you Lauren Kate for Passion!

Passion by Lauren Kate
UNABRIDGED
Narrated by Justine Eyre
length: 9 hrs and 53 mins

Listening to the audiobook made my experience with Passion even better and whole. Justine Eyre is one of the best female narrators, maybe even the best. She has this incredible range of accents and she delivers each line with the emotion that is needed. She brought “Passion” even more to life fr me and I bow my head for this woman. This is what an audiobook is about, the narrator has to deliver emotions to trigger those feelings you are reading about. Justine Eyre just did that … I will go back and listen to Fallen and Torment now…

And now, since June is the “Audiobook Month” and
I LOVE Justine Eyre and the Fallen series so much,
I give away one audiobook
of Passion!!!

I am so glad this book is amazing. The third one in a series must be the hardest to write because of reader expectation, but it sounds like Kate has done a prefect job.

    Thanks for the review

Ohmygosh… I have been dying to get my hands on this book! I burned through the first two in a matter of days and have been waiting oh so NOT patiently for Passion. In fact, when I unpacked the shipment yesterday at the bookstore I work at, there was a copy of Passion in the box. My heart skipped a beat, my breath caught in my throat, and I was unable to contain myself from petting the cover for at least 5 minutes. LOL Thanks for the great giveaway! P.S. This would be my first audio book and from the sounds of it, it would be a great first!

  3. I haven't read the Fallen series yet. Can I still enter?

Wow. Sorry for your tears with this one, but it does sound like a very compelling story. Going back in time to see yourself fall in love. How poetic and tragic would that be?!

Not entering the giveaway, have the book. I've read it and felt like I had to let it digest a few days before I could pin down my feelings on it. It is a lot of knowledge. I wouldn't have done well with the audio. It's extremely detailed, but not too much so and I really didn't find any mistakes, which given breadth of time this book spans is unbelievable. Lauren Kate must have gone over this with a fine tooth comb. Again and again. I thought she did a great job! That's all I say. Have to save something for my own review;)

  9. I haven't had a chance to read this series yet – I can't seem to get to the first one in my TBR mountain – I am hoping to get it read before school starts again. I know the kids at my school will be pleased if I can tell them what I thought of it. Thanks for hosting. Please enter me. I am an old follower.

I am dying to get the audio of this book. I cried when I read it, it was beautiful! I first bought the book (Fallen) a few months after it came out and I saw the cover and went that SO reminds me of Amy Lee and I bought the book and waited for Torment.

I love that this series just keeps getting better and better. My problem is, there are some unanswered questions that I would love to know about!

I would love to win the audio of this book! It's on my TBR list, but I need more audiobooks to listen to when I'm doing housework, driving, etc., so this one would be perfect! Thanks for an awesome giveaway:)

I can't even say how much I love these books, I'm like you I literally bawled my eyes out reading this at times. The first time I read Fallen I couldn't put it down, I ended up reading it all night. Which is exactly what I ended up doing with the next two. I have suggested this series to so many people that after reading the first book are just as hooked as I am. I would love to get a copy of this audio to be able to listen to as I re-read this book waiting for the final one to come out.
