Luc Cain was born and raised in Hell, but he isn’t feeling as demonic as usual lately—thanks to Frannie Cavanaugh and the unique power she never realized she had. But you can’t desert Hell without consequences, and suddenly Frannie and Luc find themselves targeted by the same demons who used to be Luc’s allies.
Left with few options, Frannie and Luc accept the protection of Heaven and one of its most powerful angels, Gabe. Unfortunately, Luc isn’t the only one affected by Frannie, and it isn’t long before Gabe realizes that being around her is too…tempting. Rather than risk losing his wings, he leaves Frannie and Luc under the protection of her recently-acquired guardian angel.
Which would be fine, but Gabe is barely out the door before an assortment of demons appears—and they’re not leaving without dragging Luc back to Hell with them. Hell won’t give up and Heaven won’t give in. Frannie’s guardian exercises all the power he has to keep them away, but the demons are willing to hurt anyone close to Frannie in order to get what they want. It will take everything she has and then some to stay out of Hell’s grasp.
And not everyone will get out of it alive.
I Loved loved LOVED Personal Demon’s, so when I saw that Lisa Desrochers will be at BEA I knew I needed to see her. And there she was signing Original Sin. I was thrilled, which is why this one is one of the first books I read from my BEA pile….
In Original Sin Frannie and Luc have to deal their new situation: Luc being mortal, Frannie is tagged for Heaven and tries to use her special gift “sway”. But, we also have a new important character here: a new/old *smiles* guardian angel that is here to protect Frannie. Because hell wouldn’t give it right? So we don’t have to wait long until hell is back in the game and wants Luc back and Frannie’s tag reversed ..
So instead of having two POV (Frannie’s and Luc’s) we also have a new one which was a bit confusing in the beginning. Especially since I was sure I’d love him, but I didn’t … so much. He always tried to do the best for Frannie but always went way above this and made things worse. In the end.. I understand, but while reading I was angry!
I adore kick ass Frannie and I lloove sexy Luc, those two characters are hot, sexy, strong and so very much in love! So much passion and deep love.
Original Sin is like Personal Demon’s hot in a YA kind of way.. Where normal YA novel stop with kissing, Original Sin goes further and teases you a lot with very steamy scenes. It’s awesome how Lisa manages to stay YA suitable but always expands the borders a little bit more. I love this.
I loved it and can’t wait for the next one. If you are looking for a YA book that explores the boundaries of YA, go for Personal Demons and start reading. Amazing!
