Meant to Be
Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill on goodreads:
Meant to be or not meant to be . . . that is the question.
It’s one thing to fall head over heels into a puddle of hazelnut coffee, and quite another to fall for the—gasp—wrong guy. Straight-A junior Julia may be accident prone, but she’s queen of following rules and being prepared. That’s why she keeps a pencil sharpener in her purse and a pocket Shakespeare in her, well, pocket. And that’s also why she’s chosen Mark Bixford, her childhood crush, as her MTB (“meant to be”).
But this spring break, Julia’s rules are about to get defenestrated (SAT word: to be thrown from a window) when she’s partnered with her personal nemesis, class-clown Jason, on a school trip to London. After one wild party, Julia starts receiving romantic texts . . . from an unknown number! Jason promises to help discover the identity of her mysterious new suitor if she agrees to break a few rules along the way. And thus begins a wild goose chase through London, leading Julia closer and closer to the biggest surprise of all: true love.
Because sometimes the things you least expect are the most meant to be.
Going into this story, I certainly had high hopes. Not only is the cover truly and utterly beautiful the synopsis sounded too goo to be true! I am excited to tell that this book delivered everything it promised!!
Julia – geeky & adorable!
Julia is such a geeky and truly adorable heroine and despite having to smirk at her geekyness I loved her insanely! Julia takes life and especially school very seriously and while this summer trip to London is for other a trip of fun, Julia is here to learn and to follow the roots of her parents marriage.
Truly, Julia is master of rules and she loves (!!) to follow rules and although one might think this would be annoying it wasn’t!!!! It was funny and cute!
MTB – Meant To Be
Julia believes in the “one”, the only one guy that is perfect for you and she’s determined to wait for him. Oh, Julia is even ahead of herself, because she actually knows who it is. But of course, the boy in question has no idea. Julia’s whole love life – or lack thereof is based on this fantasy and I actually found it adorably, although slightly naïve.
Love, Flirt, Romance and the mystery hunt for the right boy
Jason is the opposite of Julia (or so she thinks…) he’s dorky, takes life from the funny site, he’s a clown and well loved by girls. On top of that everyone seems to like him and he’s just an easy going guy! He was so much fun and the more you get to know him the more you fall for this cuteness of a boy!
Paired up with Julia both are stuck together on this trip and Jason takes it on him to show Julia the funny site of Life! Gosh, he was so adorable and so much fun!!!! And in the end the perfect counterpart for Julia! By hunting down a mysterious boy who texts Julia love messages, Julia finally looks behind the façade and begins to like Jason, something she would have never dreamed of before!
Julie grows during this trip, she grows in her emotions but also in her view of the world and it was a boy she would have never dreamed of who made that happen! It melted my heart to see Julia change!
Kisses, Butterflies and broken Hearts!
Whenever reading a book, I need to feel! Feel the emotions, the love, the butterfly and the heartbreak and Meant To Be delivered all this! I was slowly falling for Jason, I felt all of Julia’s confusions, the butterflies and of course also her heartbreak. Whenever a story and an authors manages to make me feel all this I’m happy!
Bewitched Rating
Bottom Line
Meant To Be holds everything between those cute little pages what the reader hopes for: love, flirt and heartbreak. All mixed together with the cutest most adorable geeky heroine, a boy who is perfect for her and shows her that there is more in the world than rules and perfection! Seriously, a must read for everyone who loved a romantic and cute story!

YEAH!!!! I loved this one too Danny! I know, I know. It’s shocking. We never agree on anything 😉 It was just so darn cute, I wanted to curl up with it on the couch and snuggle. It was predictable, but I loved that about it, and if it had ended any other way I would have been ticked. Definitely one I will be rereading!
