What the mind forgets, the heart remembers.

Alone in a train station bathroom, Sophia Hernandez has no memory of who she is or how she got there. All she’s certain of are three things: her college ID is a lie, bad people are coming for her, and no one can be trusted.

The only clue to her past is the fellow student who finds her. Although Sophia’s gut tells her Kyle is lying when he claims he can’t help her, his touch makes her heart race. Is it because of a red-hot natural attraction, or a missing memory of something far more dangerous?

As two mysterious, menacing men chase them from the station, Sophia’s memories return in frustrating fragments. So do deadly skills she didn’t know she had. In the next forty-eight hours, a loved one’s life will be on the line as she sifts through a mounting tangle of secrets and lies.

Including the most heart-wrenching secret of all. Not only isn’t she a normal college student, she isn’t even a normal human.

Warning: Contains one girl who is more than she seems, one boy who knows more than he’s telling, and enough twists to give you whiplash. Expect explosions of all kinds

I love New Adult, and I also love when New Adult is not just another Contemporary story. This, and because I love Tracey Martin, got me super excited about Revive which promised to be a New Adult SciFi story!

Contemporary College Setting with a touch of SciFi!

I really liked the setting, with a contemporary setting and just a touch of SciFi elements, which will definitely appeal to a variety of readers! Early on we learn that Sophia is somehow special but it will take us quite a while to truly figure out, how special she really is and what exactly makes her special. So I am not going to tell you know, because that is one bit intriguing part of the story you just have to experience yourself:)

Unique way of Storytelling

Another aspect that made Revive stood out was the way of storytelling! We start with Sophia who has lost most of her memories and we are going back and forth while she slowly gets back bits and pieces why she is at this particular College, and who this boy is… And.. if you think you have it all figured out, there will be another turn that makes you guess all over again.

I really liked the flow of this story, even though it was sometimes a little frustrating not to know more, but this only make me turn pages faster!

A little more emotional Character depth please..

My biggest problem yet where the characters. I felt like I didn’t get to know Sophia enough and I didn’t full connect with her on a emotional level. And then there was Kyle who, as the love interest should interest me even more, yet I just didn’t fall for him.Quite frankly this emotional connection is such an essential part for me.

….and because I love the Samhain “warnings” so much, here they are again:

Warning: Contains one girl who is more than she seems, one boy who knows more than he’s telling, and enough twists to give you whiplash. Expect explosions of all kinds
