Danny’s Week
It’s been a fairly quiet week for me! Apart from some issues I had with my car which drove me nuts! The garage tried to fix it twice and after I spend an insane amount of money, I hope it’s working again now.
But.. I got a lot of awesome reading done, which I missed so much! Last weekend I read 3 books and it felt like heaven! I read Ugly Love by Collen Hoover and it broke my freaking heart! I shared a particularly wonderful and heartbreaking quote in our Friday Feature “Bewitching Words and Whispers”
And then, because Jenny told me that I needed to read this book, I read Rites of Passage by Joy Hensley – and OMG this book was so freaking good! I read it in one sitting, I didn’t want to stop!
Finally, just this morning I finished Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews! Holy Shit!! I loved it SO so SO much!! I’m still so bummed it’s over and I have to wait forever for the next book!
Heather’s Week
I traveled out of state to give some critical training to our guys this week for work, so I had a bit of down time at the hotel at night to watch the rest of Season one of Hemlock Grove on Netflix. This series is a bit out there and gory and weird, but I totally loved it. Now I just need to find the time to start Season two. I also watched the new series Finding Carter on Mtv. It’s about a girl who didn’t know that she was kidnapped when she was three years old until she was hauled in by the police and fingerprinted for something unrelated, so she’s returned to her real family. It’s angsty and drama-filled goodness so far after four episodes.
Book wise, I finished up Valour and Vanity by Mary Robinette Kowal, which had so many emotional ups and downs that I really wondered if Jane and Vincent would make it out with their sanity in sections of the book. Next, I started the latest installment of the Songs of Magic series by the fabulous JL Bryan, called Fairy Luck. I’m eager to jump back into this YA fantasy land of humor, evil, magic, and a fantastic male protagonist with a great head on his shoulders.
Pushy’s Week
Quite week over here too! I finished The Agincourt Bride, boy was that good! But it left me in the mood for something light and fluffy. So I picked up The Great Escape by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. It’s so much fun! Also, because you can never be too good at it, and because it was recommended in an article in Forbes I read recently, I picked up Negotiation Genius by Deepak Malhotra and Max H. Bazerman.

I couldn’t do Hemlock. Nope. Not even. I’m such a chicken when it comes to stuff like that, and the picture alone frightens the jeeps out of me.
But those books I’m going to have to give a shot. I think I already told you last time that I’m a little in love with the cover for Valour and Vanity. And since it’s fantasy, it’s won my heart.
