Super Six Series That I Was or Will Be Sad To See Come To an End

You invest all the time reading the books, you fall in love with the characters, following their ups and downs, and suddenly, the books have come to an end. Such emptiness, such despair might fill your heart when you think that there will be no more adventures for your beloved characters. These are the six series that I read faithfully, and I really hate (or hated) to see them come to an end.

SSS_AnnaSeries

I want another book of snarky badass Cas Lowood killing ghosts so bad. Props to Kendare Blake in putting out only two books when trilogies rule the land, but I’m seriously fiending for more. (Kendare Blake: Goodreads / Amazon)

SSS_CasterChronicles

While the Caster Chronicles came to a fitting end in my opinion, I was always left wondering what was next for Ethan, Lena, Link, and company. At least there’s a spin off series coming this spring featuring Link and Ridley. (Kami Garcia: Goodreads / Amazon, Margaret Stohl: Goodreads / Amazon)

SSS_NightHuntress

I’ve been reading the Night Huntress Series from the beginning, and it was bittersweet to read the final Cat and Bones book. At least there’s still the Night Huntress World books and Vlad’s series to finish up. (Jeaniene Frost: Goodreads / Amazon)

SSS_ExperimentInTerror

I’ve really loved reading spunky Perry’s and sexy, foul-mouthed Dex’s antics as they hunt ghosts across the States, but alas, there’s only one more book left in this series. (Karina Halle: Goodreads / Amazon)

SSS_Coincidence

The Coincidence series is so angsty, full of damn cliffhangers, but it hurts so good. And since only three books of the announced seven have been released, there’s plenty more heartbreak to go around before I have to let these reluctant, broken kids go. (Jessica Sorensen: Goodreads / Amazon)

SSS_CharleyDavidson

My favorite snarky grim reaper has several more books to go, and that makes me a very happy girl. Charley’s story isn’t over yet, and I’m sure that Reyes has much to say about what happens in both of their futures. (Darynda Jones: Goodreads / Amazon

So those were my Super Six Series that I’m Sad To See End. I can’t wait to see what series broke your heart when they were gone or will be over!

  1. After watching the Beautiful Creatures movie, I’ve been promising myself I’d read the books. Now I’m biting my nails wondering if I can withstand the heartbreak. I get entirely too attached!

First time posting with this meme. Thanks for hosting!

You’ve only watched the Beautiful Creatures movie and not read the books yet? Oh my, Kristen, you’re in for a treat because the books are so much better than the movie. Plus, there’s a spin off series that is coming out in May. While there’s a bit of heartbreak in the books, you don’t have to wait between books like I did–you can just move from one to the next. It’s perfect! Hope you enjoy them!

And welcome to the meme 🙂

  2. I was so, so sad when Anna came to an end. The ending brought tears to my eyes. :'( I loved the Caster Chronicles ending as well, and can’t wait for the spin-off! I loved Ridley and Link in the books, so it should be good. And Night Huntress! I haven’t picked up the last book yet (’cause it’s freaking out of stock in every bookstore I’ve been to so far), but when I do, I know that it’s going to be an awesome ending to an awesome series.

We have so many series in common, Aimee. Hope you can finally get your hands on Up From the Grave. It’s a good read, and a solid series ender.

The Coincidence series is seriously angsty and a bit heartbreaking. Each book ends on a cliffhanger that makes me want to throw the book, just to warn you. Only three of the seven books are out yet, but a new one comes out about every four months so you don’t have to wait long.

  4. I totally agree with you on the Caster Chronicles, I was really sad to see that series come to an end and I can’t wait for the spin off. I have heard only good things about the Anna Dressed in Blood series so I need to get on that. Great picks!!!

I wasn’t aware that the Coincidence series was a total of 7 books. It is a really good series and I will miss it when it’s gone. I haven’t read any of the other series you’ve mentioned so I should probably check them out.

Author Jessica Sorensen just put up the titles and covers to books four through six in the Coincidence series on Goodreads in the last couple of weeks. Plus, she added Seth and Grayson’s book, which is book #7. She’s so prolific.

Thanks for letting me know. I probably would’ve found out sometime this week either from either bloglovin, my email, or goodread’s weekly post newsletter. :p

You’re welcome, Chai! I’m glad that I could recommend the Coincidence series, and the good thing about it is that the books come out pretty quickly, every four months or so.
