Welcome to today’s super exciting Tour Stop for Through The Zombie Glass by Gena Showalter! Being such an über-fan of these books I am more than fangirly excited to host Gena on her awesome Blog Tour today! And…. there will be two amazing Giveaways at the end so stay tuned…
As part of the Tour, I had the pleasure to sit down with Alice and chat a little bit with her. so please welcome Alice Bell to the Blog:

Hi Ali, thank you so much for stopping by today. I know you’ve had a rough time, so sit back, take a tee and some cake and relax for a little bit…

Ali, your life has changed quite a bit. From a girl with nearly no friends and who stayed nearly all her life inside to a kick ass strong girl who goes out at night hunting Zombies. What do you hate and love most about these dramatic changes in your life?

Ali: I love that I’m free of my gilded cage, but I hate that I’m without my family.  I love that I’m kicking evil’s butt and not bothering with names, but I hate that my friends are constantly in danger.  My life now revolves around a war I never knew was being waged, and yet, I’m happier than I’ve ever been.

In “Through the Zombie Glass” Gena tells us all about the difficult and horrible time you had to go through. What advice would you give yourself now to your younger self?

Ali: I would say, “Don’t give up.  Every storm has an end.  And even better, pretty flowers will bloom and the sun will shine.”

… and what advice would you give Cole?

Ali: I would say, “When you meet the new girl at school, the blond who just lost her entire family, DON’T GIVE HER A HARD TIME!  And then, when she tells you how she feels about you, BELIEVE HER!”

All problems aside, what do you love most about Cole?

Ali: His brutal sense of honesty.  Seriously.  Beware girls.  If you ask him how fat you look in a pair of jeans, he will tell you.  But I also love his smile.  He doesn’t show it often, but oh, when he does…I melt.

In “Through the Zombie Glass” a few new people arrive, some of then truly annoying right? Just between you and me, tell us 3 things you hate most about Gavin and … tell us 3 things you like about him! ( I won’t tell him, I promise!! )

Ali: The three things that annoy me are also the three things I love.  Gavin is persistent, and he has a warped sense of humor, and an ego that just won’t quit.  A girl is never bored around him.

Thank you so much for your time Ali! Hope to see you back soon!

Through The Zombieglass

About Through The Zombie Glass

Inspired by the childhood classic Alice in Wonderland, this harrowing and romantic story features teen zombie slayer Alice Bell who has lost so much—family, friends, her home.
After a strange new zombie attack, Alice fears she may be losing her mind as well. A terrible darkness blooms inside her, urging her to do wicked things.
The whispers of the dead assault her ears and mirrors seem to come frighteningly to life. She’s never needed her team of zombie slayers more—including her boyfriend, Cole—than she does now. But as Cole strangely withdraws and the zombies gain new strength, Ali knows one false step may doom them all.

  1. I love reading character interviews. I feel like I can get to know the characters so much better that way.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of the first book, but I do intend to continue this series.
Thanks for sharing the fabulous interview, Danny! You asked some great questions. I must meet this Gavin and see if he annoys me or has the opposite effect on me 😉

  2. If I could spend a day with Alice, I would love to train with her in defending myself against zombies and learning to kill them. Hey, I’m a novice. I got to start from somewhere.

To survive I’d let Alice proably find a sword or a katana so that she can use it to protect herself. That’s one of the best way to survive.

To survive in Alice’s world, I would ally myself with Alice and make lots of friends. I would have to train hard to be a survivor with skills myself also. And if I had a day with Alice, I would probably like to ask her help in training to be able to survive the Zombielands.

  5. I’d need a crossbow, Twinkies, and some seriously kicka$$ people to kill zombies with me.

And if I were to spend a day with Alice, I’d first ask her to teach me the art of zombie killing and then I’d wanna go kill some more zombies! 😉

    Thanks for an awesome giveaway!!!

I would use a Machete. And I would need my Bad Ass Friends (Jenni, Yves, Rexy and Mari you know what it izzzzz !) and me to allie ourselfs with Cole and his Gang. ANNND I would ask Alice and Trina to teach me how to Slay.

One word: knives. I would be loaded with them, throwing them, stabbing zombies through the eyes. I’ve seen enough of The Walking Dead to know how to kill a zombie.

I would not survive in Alice’s world. I would be dead in a matter of minutes if not seconds! Even if I had a weapon. Especially if I had a weapon as I would likely fall and stab myself in the neck! Maybe if I was super lucky, a cute guy could help me. I just hope a don’t accidently stab him in the neck!

  9. Thanks for sharing the fabulous interview with “Alice”, Danny! I’m so exited for this THROUGH THE ZOMBIE GLASS to come out. I had so much fun reading the first book and loved the unique take on soul eating Zombies and the romance between Ali and Cole. Thanks for sharing.

  10. If I got to spend a day with Alice, I would first jump around the room with excitement. Then after I calmed down, I would train with her and the rest of Cole’s gang. I’d also want to go kick some zombie butt!

I think I’d do a swell job at surviving in Alice’s world by staying focused and determined. I know how to handle a few weapons and with a bit more training, I’d be a stellar fighter.

I would first find Alice and have her help me train so that I become and expert with a crossbow and knives. Thanks for the giveaway!

I would totally kick ass!! I would not want to sit there helplessly and wait for someone to rescue me or help me.. But i love Gena Showalter and I can’t wait to read this book!!

From what I’ve heard about the book, I would either hide until I could escape that world or I would want to make sure I had or could find weapons I could use against all the zombies 🙂

  14. Ellen Trieu

I would definitely go to the countryside or have someplace with not a lot of walkers and definitely have a weapon, either a gun or a crossbow, something that doesnt make a lot of noise to attract attention. And definitely to find a group and get a bunch of supplies to survive..I watch too much Walking Dead!

  15. Kristin

I’d survive by running and using my vast knowledge about zombie killing I’ve gleaned from books and movies. And I’d find a way out!

  16. Andrea

If I could spend a day with Ali, I would probably compare weapons and moves, chill with the crew and spend some girl time with Ali and Kat at the mall.

  17. Tiffany Rarrick

If I could spend the day with Ali I think I would ask her to teach me to be a better fighter then after that we would go out somewhere and have the time of our life’s!

  18. Linda

Become a weapons expert…fighting, uh, I can get by, but seriously, if I don’t have back up, I want weapons and I better know how to use them!

  19. Lord I’d probably hide under my bed until someone dragged me out from under it. Then I’d just do whatever I was told. I am not a leader. I’m a follower. I’ve always said if there is a zombie apocalypse to make sure I am dead so I can’t return. I’d surround myself with a lot of people that knew what they were doing and copy what they did. And listen to my instincts. And probably not survive to book 3 🙂
