I hope you all had a wonderful weekend are are ready for a wonderful bookish week! I am honored and extremely pleased to kick off the blog tour for “The Burning Sky by Sherry Thomas”. This is a book I am so excited about that I was jumping around when Jamie and Rachel from Rockstar Book Tours allowed me to be on this tour.

Even more, I loved this book so freaking much, but there was one character which got to me the most: It’s the very mysterious and alluring prince Titus! He’s such an outstanding character, always hard to read but there is so much about this boy that I was flaying through the pages desperately wanting to get to know him better.

And, today I have the pleasure to show you a letter Titus wrote to his younger self – right at the beginning of “The Burning Sky” and you must read this letter as it will show you exactly why I love this boy so much but also what exciting things will happen in this amazing epic Fantasy story! Don#t worry no spoilers, but enough to be teased so that you’d wish to get this book right away!

Dear Titus,

This letter comes to you three months in the future, at the end of Summer Half, 1883.  I am you, yet I can scarcely recognize you.  And you, you will not believe everything that is about to happen.

First, remember the elemental mage you have been waiting for half of your life?  She reveals herself by calling down a bolt of lightning from a cloudless sky.  Yes, she.  I know you were expecting a boy, but a girl she is and there will be nothing you can do about that.

Second, do not worry about your original plan of hiding the elemental mage at the boys’ school you attend.  You will proceed with the same plan.  She will be quite brilliant at it and become a more popular boy than you.

Third, and this is the tough part.  She will want no part of your plan to bring down that tyrant, the Bane.  You cannot blame her.  What sensible person would agree that sort of suicidal mission?  And she is quite sensible, your elemental mage.  I would advise you not to hold on to her via morally questionable means, but I know you would not listen to me.

Fourth, stay in shape.  You will be tested in every way possible.  Make sure you can run fast, vault well, withstand torture, and fight dragons quickly and decisively.

Last but most certainly not least, do not bother guarding your heart.  I can see you rolling your eyes.  You think you are a stone-cold bastard made of nothing but lies and deceit.  I am here to inform you, my dear boy, that you are in fact quite capable of higher emotions.  And changes for the better.

Have an unforgettable term.

Fondly,

Titus

P.S.  Her name is Iolanthe Seabourne.  And she will be the best thing to ever happen to you.

Ahh!!!! Did I promised too much! Nope, I guess not because reading this made me wish to read the book again just now! I looved the part about guarding his heart, oh Titus! *swoon* and *hugs*

It all began with a ruined elixir and an accidental bolt of lightning…

Iolanthe Seabourne is the greatest elemental mage of her generation—or so she’s being told. The one prophesied for years to be the savior of The Realm. It is her duty and destiny to face and defeat the Bane, the greatest mage tyrant the world has ever known. A suicide task for anyone let alone a sixteen-year-old girl with no training, facing a prophecy that foretells a fiery clash to the death.

Prince Titus of Elberon has sworn to protect Iolanthe at all costs but he’s also a powerful mage committed to obliterating the Bane to avenge the death of his family—even if he must sacrifice both Iolanthe and himself to achieve his goal.

But Titus makes the terrifying mistake of falling in love with the girl who should have been only a means to an end. Now, with the servants of the Bane closing in, he must choose between his mission and her life.

I’m trying to behave like the adult I am and not squeal like the pre-teen I feel like I am after reading that letter. Sherry Thomas can do no wrong in my eyes. Is it the 17th yet?
