Weekly meme from The Story Siren. The idea is to post the books you got this week, whether you bought them, got them as a gift, from the library, or received them to review.

Hi, everyone! I have a few books this week (All links for books and authors are to Goodreads, descriptions are from Amazon, click the book covers to go to the Amazon.com page for the book)

I bought The Bet by Rachel Van Dyken.thebet

“I have a proposition for you…”
Kacey should have run the minute those words left Seattle millionaire Jake Titus’s mouth. Instead, she made a deal with the devil in hopes of putting her past behind her once and for all.
Four days.
She could do four days!
But she wasn’t counting on Jake’s older brother Travis being there to witness their farce of an engagement.
One thing is for certain.
One brother is right for her.
One wants a lifetime.
And one is in league with the devil.
She should have gotten Jake’s signature in blood.

I picked up a Kindle copy of this after it was recommended on Amazon and because it was only $0.99. The reviews on Goodreads seem pretty good, so this looks like a fun, light hearted read just in time for warmer weather.

Next, I picked up a copy of Dark Seraphine by KaSonndra Leigh.darkseraphine

“Mom always says the angels walk among us. She forgot to tell me that sometimes they’re not all fluffy and nice.”

Seventeen-year-old Caleb Wood has seen people he calls the walkers since he was a baby. It didn’t take long for him to realize something…no one can see these strangers but him. They never stuck around or tried to touch him. And they never said a word. That was until one day on the first day of class in his senior year when an incredibly gorgeous girl strolls into his life…and things are never the same again.

Soon Caleb realizes he has stepped into the middle of a growing conflict between two ancient groups. And his ability to see the invisible ones, the half-breeds that want to modify the human race, just might be the only hope both he and the mysterious, but infuriating, Gia, have of making it out alive

I snagged this on Amazon when it was free last week on a recommendation from my friend Greta. It will be nice to read a book with a boy main character for a change.

What’s in your mailbox this week?
