Let’s start off with the lone book that I preordered and couldn’t wait to get into my hands: The Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson.

After reading the ARC of The Name of the Star that I picked up at BEA in 2011, I knew that I had to get the second book in this series so I preordered it as soon as I could from Amazon. I loved it so much and I can’t wait to catch up with Rory and the rest of the gang in London again. I’ve never been disappointed with one of Maureen Johnson’s books, so I can’t wait to dig into this one as well.
And now for the review copies, and I’ve gotten several over the last four weeks:

The synopsis of this sounds really interesting, and I haven’t read anything in this genre in a while. It appears to have all the elements of a very exciting story, and since the author is a screen writer with some impressive movies under his belt, I have high hopes.

As I’ve admitted to reading Twilight fanfic before, I’d never read The Office so I agreed to give this one a shot. My review will be up in a couple of weeks if you want to see what I thought.Â
I got a copy of The Fury by Alexander Gordon Smith from MacMillan. — expected publication: July 23, 2013

This book promises to be super scary, full of novel, inventive zombies, and it’s YA. It’s almost 700 pages long, so I’ll have to start reading it well before it’s July 2013 publication date. Horror makes me happy, so this book should be awesome.
JL Bryan sent me a copy of book five in his Songs of Magic series, Fairyvision.

I love, love, love this YA fantasy series, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for everyone. I’m especially excited to see what happens to Erin with the knowledge of her new found family heritage.
Finally, I got a paper ARC of Dare You To by Katie McGarry (Thank you Katie and Harlequin Teen!!!!!) – expected publication: May 28, 2013

I am so excited for this book. Pushing the Limits was one of my favorite books last year, and I’m sure that Dare You To will be just as good. Beth seemed so complex and angry in the first book, and I can’t wait to get a good look at what she’s really like. And look at that cover, boy is that intense!

AHHHHH Dare to you!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m interested to see what it’ll be like. And geez… don’t get me wrong, I love the cover, but does it have to be so… kissy-kissy. Sometimes, I do not want my parents to know what I”m reading and this just SCREAMS it lol! “No, Dad, I do not need to hear the ‘Talk’ again… Yes, I know, I was dropped off by a stork on the front step…. Lol, the kissy-kissy cover didn’t bother me because I’m so ancient, but I totally see what you mean. I guess that’s why they make book covers and e-books! You might have to hide this one inside of another book, Shae. 😉 it’s going to a great book, I have high hopes.

I need to read the Shades of London books. They look right up my alley. I might try the audiobooks.

The first Shades of London book was excellent, so I hope I enjoy the second installment. You can’t really go wrong with anything by Maureen Johnson.
