About Pushing The LimitsPTL_3D

Goodreads, Amazon | B&N | Indiebound | Book Depository

“I won’t tell anyone, Echo. I promise.” Noah tucked a curl behind my ear. It had been so long since someone touched me like he did. Why did it have to be Noah Hutchins? His dark brown eyes shifted to my covered arms. “You didn’t do that-did you? It was done to you?” No one ever asked that question. They stared. They whispered. They laughed. But they never asked.

So wrong for each other…and yet so right.

No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with “freaky” scars on her arms. Even Echo can’t remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal. But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo’s world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible. Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she’ll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.

Today, we’ll be sharing with you what we LOVED, LOVED, LOVED about this book!

*Pushy* Can we just say everything? Because seriously, what didn’t I love about this book! It turned me into a sobbing watery mess on my very crowded plane ride home from BEA last year, and I didn’t even care how freaked out the guy sitting next to me was! I was crying and laughing and just turned into an absolute fool for Noah and Echo!

*Heather* You’re not kidding about the crying!  I hardly ever cry with books unless a little kid dies, but this one had my cold, dark heart thawing out and my dry eyes squirting a few tears while I hid trying to get in some more time to read it.

*Danny* Gosh I remember how this book affected me. I was so sucked into Noah and Echo’s story that all I could talk and think about was them! Oh and of course, I couldn’t shut up about Pushing The Limits and told everyone that they HAD to read this book right now! So yes! We are big, huge and crazy fans!

Well let’s get right down to it!

Here are the top 5 things we adored about Pushing the Limits:

AngstAny fan of YA knows angst goes a long way to propelling a plot forward and Pushing the Limits has this in spades. But it’s not the drag-you-down-until-you-lack-the-will-to-live kind of angst. This is good, soul-searing, let’s-get-cathartic-and-start-the-healing-up-in-here angst. And we ate it up!

FriendsNoah’s friends are the glue that’s holding him together and it’s their fierce devotion to him, and his to them, that first gives us a window into his heart.

Problems While the drama is intense, the characters are so realistic that everything they go through is brought home to the reader. Part of why each and every one of us was wrecked when we read this (did we mention we each cried a bit when we read this??) was that we each related so intensely to what Echo and Noah were going through. None of personally have shared their issues but still we felt every slice to their hearts, every moment of anguish and every drop of desire to heal themselves. We bought in big time and we was rewarded with such a fantastic story!

Smexy Okay seriously…there is nothing that’s going to get us excited about a book more than when an author can bring the romance in big time. And Katie McGarry delivers the goods! From the smoldering looks Noah and Echo share, to the giddy first brush of their lips (*Bookworms enter swoon-mode*), Katie McGarry’s skills in portraying the hot, messy, lovely romance these two characters share is unparalleled!

Noah_Echo Really what we love about both Noah and Echo was how real they felt to us. They way Katie McGarry fleshed these kids out, the way she brought them so viscerally to life, just blew us away. They are real. We still think about them sometimes as if they’re our friends. And yes, we’re aware just how weird that is, but there you have it. These characters will get their hooks into you and you’ll never want them to leave!

So, as you can see, we clearly ADORED this book!!!!

All vulnerable bad boys get my heart pumping. It’s hard not to feel for them. After all, we all have our own struggles and hurdles to overcome.

Constantine Xenakis in the Bullet Catcher series is my bad boy. He is a thief before he became a Navy Seal. What can I say, I just love those SEALS.
