On Dublin Street by Samantha Young on goodreads:

Jocelyn Butler has been hiding from her past for years. But all her secrets are about to be laid bare…

Four years ago, Jocelyn left her tragic past behind in the States and started over in Scotland, burying her grief, ignoring her demons, and forging ahead without attachments. Her solitary life is working well—until she moves into a new apartment on Dublin Street where she meets a man who shakes her carefully guarded world to its core.

Braden Carmichael is used to getting what he wants, and he’s determined to get Jocelyn into his bed. Knowing how skittish she is about entering a relationship, Braden proposes an arrangement that will satisfy their intense attraction without any strings attached.

But after an intrigued Jocelyn accepts, she realizes that Braden won’t be satisfied with just mind-blowing passion. The stubborn Scotsman is intent on truly knowing her… down to the very soul.

On Dublin Street was a small miracle on amazon, rising up the Top Lists in a few days! I think even author Samantha Young was surprised by this huge and overwhelming success. Even more, just a few weeks after self publishing On Dublin Street, her book was acquired by NAL (Penguin). Talk about a comet like miracle and success story! When it was first published in August I was always having an eye on this book, falling it neatly in my recently aquired New Adult Addiction!

Leaving your past behind… well, you can try!

Jocelyn has to deal with the tragic loss of her family and even though it’s been years, she still hasn’t learned to deal with it. Running away to Scotland, Jocelyn cuts herself from all tight human relationships, afraid having to lose again. She closes her heart , tightly until Braden comes along and teaches her to open up again. Finally, Jocelyn has to face her past and has to deal with her issues….

Thrilling set of characters that will steal your heart

I simply loved all characters in On Dublin Street! From the closed up and broken Jocelyn to the sexy beast that is Braden. Those characters will steal your heart, make you cry, sob and cheer for them! In addition to those phenomenal main characters Samantha Young introduces a set of secondary characters that were just as passionate and lovable!

Angst – Humor – Sexy Times – all you want in a good story!

Seriously, this book had it all! The angsty times when Jocelyn is dealing with her past, broke my heart just thinking about what she had to go through. On Dublin Street came with the perfect amount of heart shattering emotions, the ones that make you cry and hope for Jocelyn to find peace. But, On Dublin Street had more! It was downright funny, to see how far Braden went to get her to open up and to get the full Jocelyn not only in his bed, but this sexy smart man also tried his hardest to get into her heart! To make an already good story perfect, the chemistry between Braden and Jocelyn was sizzling and their relationship, hot and explosive!

Bewitched Rating

Bottom Line

Sexy, funny and filled with angst that will make you sob. On Dublin Street comes with a perfectly balanced, wonderful storyline that comes with amazingly flashed out characters that will manage to steal your heart! On Dublin Street is a heartbreaking story filled with hot explosive chemistry and a girl who desperately needs saving…

  2. YESSSSSSSSSS! I loved this book so much too Danny! Somehow I’m not surprised you were a fan:) I just loved Jocelyn and I wanted to reach in and just give her a huge hug and tell her she matters. Braden I thought was outstanding – all sexy and alpha without being overwhelming and completely unrealistic. LOVED! Samantha Young needs to write more new adult books for sure:)

  3. Kind of odd that it’s Dublin street in Scotland. Personally, I think Irish guys (or at least their accents) are a lot sexier than Scots, but perhaps I could be convinced by Braden 🙂

lool you are right! But , it’s just as odd as driving through cities in the US called Hamburg or Athens – always confuses me too!

And Oh hell, Braden will totally convince you once you meet him!

  5. OMG DANNY I LOVED THIS TOO!!! I just finished reading it like two days ago and I adored it! (My review will be up next week) It was exactly the kind of hot, sexy, emotional roller coaster of a book that I was looking for. I’m addicted!

And even the side characters are awesome. I’d love to read a book about one of them, or even one from Braden’s POV!
