Weekly meme from The Story Siren. The idea is to post the books you got this week, whether you bought them, got them as a gift, from the library, or received them to review.

Hi, everyone! I have two books for you guys this week (All links for books and authors are to Goodreads, descriptions are from Amazon, click the book covers to go to the Amazon.com page for the book)

First up I have the final book in The Caster Chronicles: Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.

Is death the end . . . or only the beginning?

Ethan Wate always dreamed of leaving the stifling Southern town of Gatlin.

But he never dreamt that finding love with Lena Duchannes would drive him away. Lena is a Caster girl whose supernatural powers unveiled a secretive and cursed side of Gatlin, so powerful it forced him to make a terrible sacrifice.

Now Ethan must find a way to return to Lena – and Gatlin – as she vows to do whatever it takes to get him back. Even if it means trusting old enemies or risking their loved ones’ lives.

Can Ethan and Lena rewrite their fate and their spellbinding love story in this stunning finale to the Beautiful Creatures series?

I have been waiting so impatiently for this book, and as soon as it was delivered to my house, I dug in. I loved it even though I cried through at least the first 100 pages, and then I cried through the last set of pages too. And longtime Bewitched Bookworms readers and those who know me around here no that it takes a lot to make me cry.  It was everything I wanted it to be and more. Look for my review in a few weeks.

I also preordered the twentieth installment in Patricia Cornwell’s Scarpetta Series entitled The Bone Bed.

A woman has vanished while digging a dinosaur bone bed in the remote wilderness of Canada. Somehow, the only evidence has made its way to the inbox of Chief Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta, over two thousand miles away in Boston. She has no idea why. But as events unfold with alarming speed, Scarpetta begins to suspect that the paleontologist’s disappearance is connected to a series of crimes much closer to home: a gruesome murder, inexplicable tortures, and trace evidence from the last living creatures of the dinosaur age.

When she turns to those around her, Scarpetta finds that the danger and suspicion have penetrated even her closest circles. Her niece Lucy speaks in riddles. Her lead investigator, Pete Marino, and FBI forensic psychologist and husband, Benton Wesley, have secrets of their own. Feeling alone and betrayed, Scarpetta is tempted by someone from her past as she tracks a killer both cunning and cruel.

This is Kay Scarpetta as you have never seen her before. The Bone Bed is a must read for any fan of this series, or an ideal starting point for new readers.

I’ll admit, I still haven’t gotten around to reading book #18 in this series because I was really busy when it came out. I should probably start buying the Kindle versions since these are always 500 page monsters, and they take up too much room in my bag, but my grandmother also reads these so it’s not really an option. I have a lot of pages to catch up with Kay Scarpetta and the rest of the gang.

What’s in your mailbox this week?

Anyway, I’m looking forward to starting the The Caster Chronicles, so the fact that you’re still reading it is a good sign!
