In My Mailbox – Danny’s New Adult Edition

Posted 26 August, 2012 by Danny in Blog, Danny, Meme / 21 Comments

Happy Sunday my friends and welcome to:

Weekly meme from The Story Siren. The idea is to post the books you got this week, whether you bought them, got them as a gift, from the library, or received them to review.
This week, it’s all about Contemporary and New Adult, my newest, most recents addition & passion!

For Review

eGalley from NetGalley and Edelweiss: Thanks to St. Martins, Simon& Schuster for providing me these review copies.

Slammed and Point of Retreat (sequel to Slammed) are both perfect New Adult examples!

Books Bought

I bought a lot of books lately since I’m in the New Adult Contemporary wonderland

Both are classic New Adult Contemporary books and… they feature the hottest rock star EVER!

Cross my Heart is upper YA,  Reason To Breath is YA and Avoiding Commitment would more fit into the New Adult category

When I look at my books I’m rather surprised right now. Not a single paranormal book!!!! And that after I spend a big post on my love for paranormal. But. Right now I am dying to read more Passionate, Heartbreaking and emotionally draining Contemporary!

Also, one 3 Review copies! It’s actually a relief that right now I can read all those books I want to read and just go with the flow and my mood instead of reading for deadlines!

Let me know what you have in your mailbox!!
Much Love,

  1. I’m loving all your books Danny! These emotionally draining books are the bomb! Avoiding Commitment looks pretty good. Sexy cover too. I think I’ll take a closer look at that one and look up a few of the others too!

Also, how weird, I was totally looking at Slammed like 2 days ago. I was sort of on the fence about whether or not I wanted to get it. It gets fabulous reviews but I’m hesitant for some reason. I hope you review it because I totally trust your opinion! 😛

  2. Eeep! Awesome books, Danny! Slammed and PoR are AMAZING! Some of the best books I read this year so far (along with Flat-Out Love and Easy, of course). I hope you enjoy them too. 😀 Breathe, Cross my Heart and Reason To Breath were pretty awesome too. Oh, and I just got Avoiding Commitment last week too and I’m really excited to read it! (It looks sexy, intense and heartbreaking all at the same time).

And just like you, I get less and less paranormal books every week too. But these Contemporaries are so good!<3

    Happy reading!

Some of these New Adult books sound like really great reads. I love contemporary, and I do prefer slightly older protagonists, particularly as I am fast approaching my late twenties! I’ll definitely be checking some of these out. Enjoy your books!

  5. I was surprised when I saw mostly contemp books too! 😀 I think I’m starting to get in some contemp kick as well. Lots of these I’ve heard amazing things about, and hopefully you’ll enjoy them too!
    Happy reading ^__^

  6. I was looking up almost every book you have here, then I wandered over to the comments and read about New Adult being a combination of YA and Adult – I didn’t know that! Thanks for putting me onto this! I have a feeling I’m going to love these books. Problem is, neither of the TWO libraries I use have a lot of these books, so I may have to wait a while to read them….
