I don’t do dangerous.  Smart, über-careful, ordinary Samantha-that’s me. But I just couldn’t pass up a surprise kiss from my number-one unattainable crush. A kiss that did something to me…something strange. Now I feel hungry all the time, but not for food. It’s like part of me is missing-and I don’t know if I can get it back. Then there’s Bishop. At first I thought he was just a street kid, but the secrets he’s keeping are as intense as his unearthly blue eyes. If he’s what I think he is, he may be the only one who can help me. But something terrifying is closing in, and the one chance Bishop and I have to stop it means losing everything I ever wanted and embracing the darkness inside me…. NIGHTWATCHERS When angels and demons must work together, something beyond evil is rising..

There is no doubt, that I love Angel and Demon stories.. I just do! so of course, as soon as I saw Dark Kiss by Michelle Rowen, I knew I had to read it – asap! And.. I’m just so glad I did…

Delicious &  Compelling Storyline!

I really liked the storyline! What I liked the most, was the fine line between good and bad, dark and light.  There are tons of grey zones and it’s on us to figure out about the good and the bad players in the game. Bishop, the Angel from the cover is send on a special mission on earth where he has to fight together with Demons in a Team. Weird enough, but this “special force” team made the whole plot just much more interesting and intriguing! When Angels and Demon’s have to work together, something big and bad is going…. Of course, this unusual team gave room for a lot of tension and drama!

Samantha – heroine ordinaire, suddenly extraordinaire

Sam is the storyteller and she’s basically your classic sweet nice girl who suddenly finds herself surrounded by para and supernatural events. Even though I liked Sam, she was nothing truly special and falls into the same line of heroines we often face in YA literature. He lack of epicness was compensated by the boys, which is why it didn’t bother me too much! However, I do wish to see a deeper development in the next book!

Brooding Angel – Witty Damon

Clearly, the two main male leads Bishop the Angel and Kraven the Damon were awesome! I loved them both. As usual I always fall a little more for the Bad boy – although this might not be so clear cute in this tale! Bishop is more of the tortured guy, but he’s strong and fierce exactly how I love my Angels! I enjoyed the slow connection he was forming with Sam, inital not interested and only focused on his mission, but slowly connecting with Sam!

The seriously best character was Kraven – Demon and full of fun and witty retorts! I love his banter with Bishop, he clearly knew how to push his buttons:-) I can’t wait to get more from him in the next book and I’m super curious to learn more about his tale and future!

Bewitched Rating

Bottom Line

Dark Kiss is a thrilling tale about darkness and light, good and bad! In Dark Kiss you need to have a closer look inside the soul of a character , and you have to decide for yourself who’s rather light or dark. Dark Kiss plays with those greyzones and this was one of the strongest aspects of this story! Fans of Angels and Demon’s will love this story and should add it to their wish lists!

  1. I’m so glad you enjoyed this one, Danny.
I personally only gave it 3 stars, but I’m definitely going to check out the sequel since the plot had huge potential.
Kraven was also my favorite character. He was witty and sarcastic! I loved him ! 😛
    Great review, Danny 🙂

  2. I was going to read this one last week but then I really wasn’t in the book for another angel book. I’m not a big fan of them and I’ve had my fill for a while. I will keep it though bc it sounds pretty good. The male characters definitely sound great! 😉 And “Kraven the Damon” is that what he’s called? That’s awesome!! haha

Oh hon, I know how it is when you just don’t feel the gene of a certain book and then the worst you can do it force yourself to read! I had this with The Peculiars.. sadly there I tried three times and didn’t get into it..
I hope you will give this one another chance when you are in the right modd for this!

Hahhahaha I love you Danny:) I think I will thoroughly enjoy Bishop and Kraven, you know how I love the hot boys with the witty retorts:) I’m glad to know Sam is nothing special upfront, now I won’t be disappointed, but it sounds like the boys more than make up for whatever she’s lacking!

  5. Kraven sounds great. I love good witty dialogue. I’m also interested in a book with lots of gray. There’s not enough of those types of books.

  8. Oh my gosh, have I ever mentioned that I love you? Because I felt the EXACT same way!!! One of my favourite things about this book was the way Michelle Rowen blurred the lines between good and bad too! I thought Bishop was supposed to be the pure angel and Kraven was supposed to be the pure demonoid, but they were a mixture of both! (And even though Bishop was sweet, my favourite character has to be Kraven too — looooooooove those snarky boys LOL)!

Absolutely amazing review, Danny! I’m so happy you loved this as much as I did — and I hope you love the boys even more tomorrow, if you know what I mean! x) <3

Uh, what if you don’t like angels? This looks different, what with them fighting together, and I loooove the cover, but I usually steer clear of angel stories.

Wonder if this could this be the one to make me change my mind!
