Fated

Book I in The Soul Seekers series
publication: May 22nd 2012 by St. Martin’s Press
sooo pretty!

The first book in a magnificent new series about a girl who can navigate between the worlds of the living and the dead by #1 New York Times bestselling author Alyson Noël.

Lately strange things have been happening to Daire Santos. Animals follow her, crows mock her, and glowing people appear out of nowhere. Worried that Daire is having a nervous breakdown, her mother packs her off to stay in the dusty plains of Enchantment, New Mexico with a grandmother she’s never met.

There she crosses paths with Dace, a gorgeous guy with unearthly blue eyes who she’s encountered before…but only in her dreams. And she’ll get to know her grandmother—a woman who recognizes Daire’s bizarre episodes for what they are. A call to her true destiny as a Soul Seeker, one who can navigate between the worlds of the living and the dead. Her grandmother immediately begins teaching her to harness her powers—but it’s an art that must be mastered quickly. Because Dace’s brother is an evil shape-shifter who’s out to steal her powers. Now Daire must embrace her fate as a Soul Seeker and find out if Dace is one guy she’s meant to be with…or if he’s allied with the enemy she’s destined to destroy.

I admit have a love/hate relationship with the Evermore series. I totally loved the first book but then I stopped reading the series altogether. But, I am truly excited about this new series. It sounds awesome and I can’t wait to read this first book!

It sounds so fantastic: souls, love and shapeshifting!

Much Love,

Yeah me neither, I really liked the first book but then I totally dropped the series, I just didn’t like it anymore after the first 2 books. But, I still think she’s a great author and this series sounds great!

I was actually considering reading the series again. Now that all books are published I could read them in one go, which could improve the whole experience 😀

I totally agree with you.I have one book left to finish the series (i think just recently released on my language) and I am smiling already by just thinking the series will end. And imagine that i really liked the characters.I think i will wait for some reviewers and then decide what to do. Quite reasonable right?

Yep that’s my thinking too… If the Evermore series wasn’t for me doesn’t mean this one couldn’t either.. Looking forward to this one!

I was just so bored with the characters and their choices. I didn’t get them and the story went downhill for me so fast. I have high hopes for this one and I hope it’s going to be awesome!

I have to be honest and say, don’t read the Immortals because I really didn’t like this series… But, this has nothing to do with her being an author and I have high hopes for this series! It does sound so different from the other one and I hope I’m going to love it!

  6. I have a similar relationship to the IMMORTALS series (stopped reading after the third book, although I think I’ll end up finishing it one day), but I’m really excited for FATED. Sooo happy to have got an ARC from the UK publisher and can’t wait to dive into it. It sounds awesome. Great pick! 🙂

It’s funny, but there are not so many series out there which started so strong and then dropped. Fr me there was just The Immortals and the Evernight series. And I’m being honest, I won’t going to finish the Immortal series… But… I truly hope I’m going to love this one! Wooot!

  7. I have yet to read a book by Ms. Noel. I steered away from her books just because the reviews weren’t outstanding. This is perhaps one I would like to try.
The cover is beautiful. Thanks for sharing Danny. Oh and the last couple of times I have commented here my blog feed doesn’t show up 🙁 Not sure why…

The only ones I read and started was The Immortal series. She had a soin off of this series which was mostly MG, which is why I didn’t pick it up. She also wrote some contemporary stories which sound nice!

This is one combines some elements I really find intriguing, souls and shape shifting and… I’m always dying to meet such mysterious strangers, I can’t help myself! :-))

  8. I agree with the love/hate relationship with her Immortal series. I loved the first 1 or 2 books, but disliked the last few books. I already heard a negative review on this one, so I’m not so sure if I’ll still give it a try..

Haha it’s so funny that I find so many people that feel about this series like me. I’m apparently not alone with my love/hate! I really hope this is going to be awesome and not another of those series that I will drop!

  9. I’ve actually never read a Alyson Noel book (I know, I know. I must!), but I’m determined to read this one. The cover is gorgeous, and the description sounds amazing. Plus, ya know, it’s Alyson Noel. So I must. 🙂

Totally agree!!!!! And i haven’t so much from her either, just the beginning of the Immortals. The covers of her MG novels at so cute but since the protagonist was so young I wasnt interested..

  10. Ohhhh, I am so in love with that cover. So gorgeous. I haven’t read the Evermore series, though I do hear a lot of mixed opinions on it. This book just has to be good, with a cover like that. I just really want it to be, haha.

    Great choice, Danny 🙂

I like her as an author too.

I won an ARC of this and am reading it now. Or should I say slogging through it. I’m only on page 80 something but this whole mystical thing isn’t doing it for me so far. I’ve never read any of Noel’s books before and I’m not tempted to pick them up based on the writing in Fated. But nothing’s really happened yet, she hasn’t really even met the two guys, so maybe I’ll change my mind once things start moving.
