Greetings fellow Bookworms!
kg here.
cutie is currently fighting for her sanity whilst enduring the semester from hell.
so I am here to entertain you and curb your appetite for rambling shenanigans until she emerges
from what I can only imagine is a mountain of homework with laundry and 4 kids all mixed in.
the only drama I’ve been dealing with is what book to read next.
to make matters worse, I’m totally addicted to fanfiction.
oh, the first world problems I have to deal with. it’s ridic.
so I’ve decided to ask the people who know best…
the bewitched readers!
what should I read next?
1. Crescendo
2. The Forest of Hands and Teeth
3. Life As We Knew It
4. Bumped
5. Harry Potter
yes, I will admit I have never read the Harry Potter books. Please don’t hurt me.
Please, please, please help me decide.
Let me know in the comments what you think I should read and why.
sparkle love-

I would vote for Harry Potter first because, well, duh, it's Harry Potter. But Forest of Hands and Teeth would be second because it was so unexpectedly good for me – hopefully it will be for you too.

I have read both Life As We Knew It and The Forest of Hands and Teeth. Both very good. I would go with The Forest of Hands and Teeth first though. Both deal with apocalyptic settings. Just different ways that the world and humanity have to reinvent themselves. If you are a zombie fan go with TFOHT.

The Forest of Hands and Teeth! This is my favorite zombie series so far, but it is more than just zombies, it is about love, romance and fighting for what you beleive in! I just know you will love it!!!

You definitely have to read the Harry Potter series. It's just so amazing and then your gonna wonder what took you so long lol. This is my favorite series and nothing will pass that. J.K.Rowling did an amazing job creating such a magnificent world this series is on a whole other level.. You also have to read Crescendo which means you read Hush,Hush lol. I love this series it's one on my favorites(not counting HP series). Crescendo takes place right after Hush,Hush and it's just such a great read. Very intense and keeps you on your toes trying to figure out what is happeneing with the characters. Once again Becca Fitzpatrick did an amazing job with this series.

  5. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone! I promise you, Harry Potter will open you to a whole new world! *cues Disney music*. Ah, you say you don't believe me? What other book do you know of that has it's own THEME PARK?! 😀 Hahaha, but seriously. It is an AMAZING series. Its one of those books I would buy for you, walk hundreds of miles to wherever you live, camp out on your doorstep, then continually brew you coffee so you can stay awake to read the entire series in one siting. Because it is that good. 🙂

Let us know what book you end up picking! 🙂

Life As We Knew It…. BEST BOOK EVER. I love the diary way of story telling. To think of how life could be after a major world disaster. I know people would say that Harry Potter is the obvious choice but the the survivors series of 3 is the best.

  8. As much as I want to scream Forrest of Hands and Teeth (which was one of the best books I read last year, and Carrie Ryan is a sweetheart in real life!!!), my unwavering, absolute vote is for the Harry Potter series. I also put off reading it for a while because I don't normally like to read along with the popular trend (I especially tend to dislike the books that make it onto the NYT bestsellers list). Plus, I was working in a bookstore when the books started to get big over here, and I loathed having to refill that display every ten seconds!

But here's a bunch of reasons why I'm so glad I caved and red the series:
    – At the heart of the series, the books are about friendships and what ends true friends will go to for each other. Not just Harry, Ron, and Hermione, but friendship is a theme that affects all the characters.

    – Speaking of, her secondary characters are some of the most wonderful ones I've ever read about. My heart will always belong to Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood.

    – JKR did an amazing job of letting her characters grow up in the books, something that not all authors master in a realistic manner. Which is why, when people complain about Harry in book 5, I remind them, "He's 15 in that book. JKR wrote a believable 15 year old. And 15 year old boys are whiny twats sometimes, so…" 😉

    – You like the villains almost as much as you like the heroes.

    – And, last point: who HASN'T wished they had magic powers at some point in their lives?!?!?!?

I really hope you chose to dive into this series, as I always love reading about people's first journeys into the Wizarding World.

    Smiles!
    Lori
