synopsis from goodreads

To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.

Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family’s. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride’s heir apparent who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on—that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love?

In bestselling author Sophie Jordan’s dramatic follow-up to Firelight, forbidden love burns brighter than ever.

Drakins – super unique paranormal creatures

I really love the concept of Drakins as a paranormal creature. I always loved Dragons and I found Firelight to be so very unique in the world of mystical creatures. Also, the way Mrs Jordan describes the Drakins is just stunningly beautiful. I truly liked the story of Jacinda being a unique Drakin even among her own kind and her struggling to fit in the patriarchal world and order of the pride.

Vanish starts right off where Firelight ends, with Jacinda, her mom and sister going back to her pride. Jacinda wants to keep Will save – the Drakin hunter and her love – and had to make this horrible decision to go back to a world she hates and loves at the same time. Loving because she can be her true self – Hating because she hates the strikt orders of the pride and especially the alphas!

Things have changed for Jacinda…
once beloved, now…

Being back is hard…. While she was always adored and loved before because she was so very unique, she’s now looked at with different eyes. She left and betrayed her kind – something that can’t be easily forgotten…. Now, she has to face a pride that doesn’t trust her, a sister that changed and finally seems to take her place and the loss of Will, whom she truly loves but cannot be together…

back and forth…

Truth to be told, I struggled a bit with Vanish. While I loved Jacinda in Firelight, in Vanish she annoyed me from time to time and her decisions were so very hard to follow. In one moment she would do anything to keep her sister save in the next moment she forgets everything and just wants to be with Will.

She couldn’t make up her own mind, and the constant back and forth were really annoying to follow. Some of her actions were so reckless that I was searching for the girl that would do anything to keep the ones she loves save.

Team Cassian!!!!

I truly loved the twist with Jacindas sister Tamra, it was very unexpected and a pleasant surprise. I love Cassian and I love him even more after Vanish! I’m truly Team Cassian which makes it even harder for me to truly cheer for Jacindas decisions…

Bottom Line

All together it was a nice sequel but didn’t rock as much as I hoped it would. Still, I’m looking forward reading the next ones since I still have high hopes for this series!

I LOVE CASSIAN!!!!! I know this is weird guys, but if I were Jacinda, I would soooo take Cassian over Will. Will sounds cool too, but Cassian is so sweet and almost….vulnerable.:) And they're perfect for each other! Each an awesome draki. And he's so patient and can't take his eyes off her.;) 100% Team Cassian!

i dont really like jacinda in this book. i am a team cassian through and through and the thought dat she might be messin with his feelings dont really bode well for me. frankly i find her disgusting especially when she pins for will.(i dont lyk will truth be told.she has something called the bella syndrome i mean she dosent know if she wants will or cassian and as the book progress the author dosent really give us an insight to her feelings especially about cassian.i love sophie jordans book but this was a serous dissapointment especially her writing and the tone and mood of the book.
