My life had always been blissfully, wonderfully normal. But it only took one moment to change everything.

Suddenly, my sister, Georgia, and I were orphans. We put our lives into storage and moved to Paris to live with my grandparents. And I knew my shattered heart, my shattered life, would never feel normal again. Then I met Vincent.

Mysterious, sexy, and unnervingly charming, Vincent Delacroix appeared out of nowhere and swept me off my feet. Just like that, I was in danger of losing my heart all over again. But I was ready to let it happen.

Of course, nothing is ever that easy. Because Vincent is no normal human. He has a terrifying destiny, one that puts his life at risk every day. He also has enemies . . . immortal, murderous enemies who are determined to destroy him and all of his kind.

While I’m fighting to piece together the remnants of my life, can I risk putting my heart—as well as my life and my family’s—in jeopardy for a chance at love?

*sighs heavily* Oh my gosh that was romantic! So so beautiful!

This is the story about Kate and Vincent and an extraordinary love. Kate just lost her parents and moved with her sister to Paris to live with their grandparents. There she meets this incredibly beautiful boy Vincent and the instant they see each other they know that have to get to know each other.

Vincent is a Revenant a fancy word for a Zombie, but he’s also more – he only exists to rescue people to save life after life. Now, Kate is drawn into this world that exists beyond belief and she has to decide if she wants normal – or extraordinary.

Zombies..Oh NO Revenants…

What I found utterly creative and fascinating was this new take on Zombies, although the word really doesn’t cope with what we face here. Zombies is an ugly word, but those Revenants are beautiful and wonderful creatures that have a wonderful heart.

Heartbreaking were the moments when Kate was facing her grief over losing her parents. Having lost important people myself I know that the grief shown here was real and displayed in an honest way. It’s always good to see when an author is able to deliver such delicate things and Mrs Plum certainly did! Also, I loved to see how strong Kate really was. She is a wonderful character and I loved to follow her.

soft sweet and wonderfully romantic…

What grabbed me most was the absolute romantic love between Vincent and Kate, he really is from another era and oh boy, he was so sweet it was just so beautiful! Sometimes though, I wished to see him more fierce and a man from our time – but in the end this was Vincents character and it was absolutely right for him.

Bottom Line:

A wonderful, incredibly romantic and beautiful love story that makes your heart swell. A strong heroine and a captivating new take in the supernatural world makes this book worth your time!

As some of you might have noticed, the cover changed. The old one was captivating and specially after reading the book, the cover made so much sense! I get the new cover though, it shows the romantic part of the book

New                                                      Old
Although I’m not a fan from covers where you see the face I loved this red boat!
(Specially after you’ve read the book you can appreciate the old cover!)
It was mystic and I really liked it. The new one is softer and more romantic, the old one caught the mystical aspect more.
 So

Great Review! Thanks for no spoilers. I hate when that happens and usually avoid reading book reviews on books I'm going to read. But that review was just enough! I can't believe how many zombie books I'm reading/listening to lately. You'd think I was turning into a zombie lover!
