cutie’s got a corner and this is it "aka the lamest title ever"

Posted 27 January, 2011 by Danny in / 0 Comments

Like many of you,
I’ve got a reading list a mile long.
Heckles, if one were to collect all the books on my
“to read” list then lay them out end to end
they would probably stretch from my lil house here in the desert
all the way across the ocean and straight to Danny’s front door.
I’ve done the math.
It’s possible.
*winks*
Of those “to read” there are a few choice picks
that are coming out this year that my
grubby hands are dying to…
well, get their hands on.
Here’s a list a five of them:

1. The Dark & Hollow Places
This is the third and final book of The Forest of Hands and Teeth series by Carrie Ryan.
My dear Pushy got me turned onto this series and I will forever be in her debt!
To read Pushy’s awesome review of the first two books clickity click here.
The Dark & Hollow Places will be release on April 7th 2011.
And I am DYING to get my hands on it!

Sqeeee-ing Update: During the writing of this post
I recieved an email from the loveliness that is One Pushy Fox.
She says she’s got a book to send me that hasn’t come out yet.
Can ya guess what it is?
Oh never mind that guessing it:
THE DARK AND HOLLOW PLACES!!
OME!!!!
(That’s right peeps Oh. My. Edward. I’m Twitarded. Deal.)
She lubs me.
She truly does.

2. Desires of the Dead
I read Kimberly Derting’s debut novel The Body Finder last summer
and I instantly fell in love with Violet. So much so that I dedicated
a whole cutie’s corner post to the novel. (Click here to read it.)
The much anticapated sequel comes out next month,
and is a must must MUST read in my book.
(Wellll after you’ve read the first book, of course!)
Desires of the Dead hits the shelves February 15th 2011.

3. what happened to goodbye
Last summer, I became obsessed with reading all
of Sarah Dessen’s books. I am realizing now I should have
freaking paced myself. However, in my defense,
I couldn’t help myself… She’s a fan-freaking-tastical writer.
For a while now, I’ve felt this hole in my heart due to the lack of a
new Dessen novel to read (drama queen much?).
Well, the wait is almost over, my friends!
Her next book, What Happened to Goodbye,
comes out May 10th 2011 and I am counting down the days!
Here’s a description:

Another town. Another school. Another Mclean. Ever since her parents’ bitter divorce, Mclean and her father have been fleeing their unhappy past. And Mclean’s become a pro at reinventing herself with each move. But in Lakeview, Mclean finds herself putting down roots and making friends—in part, thanks to Dave, the most real person Mclean’s ever met. Dave just may be falling in love with her, but can he see the person she really is? Does Mclean herself know?

4. Love Story by Jennifer Echols
The description of this book is extremely vague:

From popular author Jennifer Echols comes a provocative, dramatic story of teen romance, set against the bustling world of a New York City university.

And, as of yet, there is no cover for this novel.
All that aside, I am super stoked about this book!
I became a huge fan of Echols when I was making my way through
Simon Pulse’s extremely fluffy, thoroughly enjoyable,
Simon Pulse Romantic Comedies Series.
(Hm… I wonder what the books in this series are about?)
Love Story comes out July 2011
and you can bet your bottom dollar
I’ll be reading it.

5. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Season Eight Volume Eight:

Last Gleaming
(dear goodness that was a mouthful!)

The beloved cult classic continues on, my friends.
Buffy is my own personal branded of heroin.
Custom made to make my heart go pitter patter.
I need it. I love it. I’ve got to have it.
Last Gleaming is the final volume of Season Eight.
 (Useless and overwhelming FYI:
The last comic (Issue #40)  was released on January 19th 2011.
That’s Buffy’s Birthday, by the by.)
Last Gleaming comes out June 21, 2011
and you can bet your ass it will be mine day of.
The end.
*drops mic and walks off stage*

Errr… Okay.
I didn’t walk off.
But I think you got the picture.
Sooooo, enough about me!
What books are coming out soon that you are DYING to read?
Tell me. Tell me.
I would love to know.

Tis what I know.
And what I’ve got.
Until next time –
Yours truly,
