Notable Quotables is a meme we started here at Bewitched Bookworms to share some of our favorite quotes in the books we’ve been reading. We think it is a fun way to find out a bit more about each other as book bloggers and to share everything from great snarky zingers to sigh inducing avowals of love.
Anyone can participate in this meme and it really can be any quote from any book, no matter the genre. So get creative and share something fun!
Writing isn’t about making money, getting famous, getting dates, getting laid, or making friends. In the end, it’s about enriching the lives of those who will read your work, and enriching your own life, as well. It’s about getting up, getting well, and getting over. Getting happy, okay? Getting happy. Some of this book- perhaps too much – has been about how I learned to do it. Most of it has been about how you can do it better. The rest of it – and perhaps the best of it – is a permission slip: you can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will. Writing is magic, as much the water of life as any other creative art. The water is free. So drink. Drink and be filled up.

Oh my goodness!!! He has SO many other good books (I did love The Stand, though!). One of his more recent and excellent books was Lisey's Story. Creepy and poignant and wonderful. Definitely check it out!
